Palácio de Tancos — Attraction in Lisbon

I cannot say enough positive things about Tancos. The staff, the venue itself, and the stunning views exceeded all expectations. After contacting over 100 venues, Tancos stood out as the perfect choice. Many venues in Lisbon are more than 45 minutes from the city center, but since most of our guests were traveling from the US, we wanted a location that minimized additional travel. Tancos, located near the iconic Castelo de São Jorge and Alfama, was ideal. The venue offers 14 rooms to rent (though one is quite small, more suitable for a teenager). They even provided a discount when we booked all the rooms. While there is no on-site restaurant or room service, the area is filled with charming local cafés and restaurants. The bridal suite at Tancos was absolutely incredible. It was massive, providing plenty of space for all the girls to get ready comfortably. The room was filled with natural light, making it perfect for wedding day photos and makeup. Every corner seemed designed with a bride in mind. There were two full-sized closets, which made it easy to hang dresses, robes, and any other attire The rooms are modern and equipped with air conditioning, making them comfortable for our guests. We rented Circuit C, which includes the entire 4th floor except for Rooms 1 and 2. We had multiple video calls with the staff to ensure everything was in place, and although it was nerve-wracking to book a venue without visiting, everything turned out perfectly. We stayed at Palácio de Tancos for 4 days over our wedding weekend and hosted a farewell event there for 100 people.

What a place. It really is an oasis nestled in the heart of Alfama - by the pool, you really wouldn't know you were so central in Lisbon, except for when you look up and you can see the walls of Castelo do São Jorge. Incredible.

The rooms are beautifully decorated, with traditional portuguese touches (like original azulejos) and modern specifications (air con, modern bathrooms etc).

We used the pool and terrace event spaces with the rooms in between, including the bar and pool table. The view from the terrace is spectacular and our guests all commented on how fabulous the venue was.

The staff were also incredibly accommodating and helpful - Patrícia and her team did an awesome job.

Worth noting that the venue itself is not a functioning hotel so it doesn't provide food, room service or a bar. This was well communicated to us in advance so we were able to make arrangements, and they gave us access to a fridge in the kitchen to keep...

Casámos em maio no Palácio de Tancos e foi simplesmente inesquecível. Escolhemos este espaço por ser um palácio lindíssimo, no coração da cidade histórica de Lisboa, e foi a escolha perfeita.

A vista é incrível, o ambiente é extremamente limpo e bem cuidado, e os azulejos... são de tirar o fôlego! Cada detalhe do espaço tem charme e história, o que tornou o nosso dia ainda mais especial.

A organização, a atenção e o carinho da equipa foram impecáveis do início ao fim. Recebemos inúmeros elogios dos nossos convidados, todos encantados com a beleza e atmosfera do lugar.
