Nightmare hotel. First off, don't believe the images you see on the websites. This is a glorified closet. You can barely move around. Bed is tiny and only single occupancy. Bathroom isn't "private" at all; it's just behind a semi-opaque glass door. If you have a significant other / spouse / friend / etc, this will be a complete and total nightmare. Hotel is scamming people.
But even if you're a 20-something single, I wouldn't exactly recommend it. Our room on the 1st floor had the smell of raw sewage. You could hear pretty much everything in the hall, adjoining rooms. And there are much nicer hotels for lower prices in Lisbon. If this were advertised as a hostel and cost 60 Euros per night, it'd be one thing, but it's advertising itself as a luxury 4-star hotel, which it is absolutely not.
My wife at one point got trapped in the shower. Shower is super tiny and barely even room to get into it. Somehow the door shifted the wrong direction so that she couldn't even get out. I had to rescue her from the shower.
Also, the Baixa area in general is very overrated. To be fair, the surrounding neighborhoods are beautiful, there is a lot to do, and a lot of wonderful walks, but Baixa itself is noisy, there are panhandlers all over the place. You say "no" to some of these people 3-4 times and they are still bugging you - it got to the point I had to start yelling at them to get them to go away.
My recommendation if you're going to Lisbon: (a) find a much better hotel than this and (b) stay somewhere other than Baixa. We stayed in Saldanha most of the time and it's a great, underrated neighborhood. The Lisbon metro is pretty good and it's very easy to go from somewhere like Saldanha down to Baixa in 15 minutes.
There are some good shops and restaurants in Baixa - but just stay somewhere else - you'll get a better hotel, lower price-point, and it's ridiculously easy to get to Baixa in a few minutes if...
Read moreTiny noisy cell (called room #201). We (2 people) stayed in this Lis Biaxia hotel 5 nights (April 22 – April 27, 2023). We booked this hotel in Expedia websites and requested quiet room. Front desk receptionist placed us in a tiny dark cell on the second floor with tiny window looking to the wall on next building. In Hotel Website room mention as 161 sq feet, but in reality this cell was less than 100 sq.feet. Moreover, we were not able to open the entrance room door completely because it hit the bed. Due to limited space in this tiny cell the electrical kettle stayed on the floor and it was no place for one carry on luggage. In addition, I was not able to sleep at night because of noise and loudly music from the first floor. Staff was informed immediately about situation. Several times per day we talked with receptionists/ staff and begging to change the room, but manager Claudio ignored the situation and our request.
Hotel manager Claudio ignored us during these 5 days. We begging every day receptionists to change our room, but manager did not talk to us, and did not give permission to change room even for couple days. Hotel was not full and had many cancellations and no shows.
Breakfast is not healthy or testy. The same meal is served for 5 days, no any variety. We are not recommend to stay in this hotel. Hotel is overcharged for service/room which they provided.
Conclusion: stay away from this hotel, this hotel deserves only one star for service. We are not recommending staying in this hotel; they extremely overcharge for service/room which...
