ATTENZIONE TRUFFA! BEWARE SCAM! Cost €7.50 per person, they kindly encourage you to enter by telling them that there are also "Ancient torture instruments" (also shown on the ticket!). Summary of the visit: ground floor measuring about 50m2 with wax statues bordering on embarrassment. Upper floor of about 90m2 with as many embarrassing and very badly made statues and 2/3 guillotines that you can't find so badly made not even at Toy Center. Visit completed in less than 3 minutes, despite what was said at the entrance where a 20 minute visit was expected!!! I even translate it into other languages so no one can get fooled. AVOID THIS PLACE! Read moreDisclaimer This is a wax museum and not a torture museum - there is a torture museum in San Marino but it’s a completely different museum.
In all fairness, we should have checked properly, however the ticket is called “Museo Delle Cere Antichi Strumenti Di Tortura” so it is a bit misleading.
The museum is relatively small in size and contains a small selection of odd / creepy wax figures from history, and then there are a small number of torture instruments at the end. It all felt a bit thrown together, dated and crude.
It’s not worth the €5 entry fee (that’s with the tourist discount) and it takes 10 minutes to walk through the place - spend your...
Read moreThe waxwork museum was fantastic. At €4 it isn't exactly pricey, and you get what you pay for, but that's the charm of it. Half of the museum is full of highly entertaining waxworks of historical figures (some more controversial than others...), and then, with no warning, the remaining half of the museum is full of waxworks of medieval torture or execution techniques. Amazed at the negativity on here. It's half an hour of good fun. Go in with a sense of humour and you'll...
