I recently visited the Museum of Illusions in Johannesburg, and it was an unforgettable experience. The museum offers a fascinating blend of optical illusions, interactive exhibits, and educational displays that captivate visitors of all ages. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm and friendly staff who were eager to guide us through the various exhibits. Each section of the museum is thoughtfully designed to challenge your perception and encourage you to question reality. One of the highlights was the Ames Room, where the optical illusion of changing sizes left us in awe. The Vortex Tunnel was another favorite, providing a dizzying yet thrilling experience. We also enjoyed the holograms and the clever photo opportunities throughout the museum. The Museum of Illusions is not just about fun and games; it also offers educational insights into the science behind these illusions. This made the visit both entertaining and informative, especially for the kids. Overall, the Museum of Illusions in Johannesburg is a must-visit. It's perfect for families, groups of friends, or even solo explorers. Make sure to bring your camera for some mind-boggling photo ops and be prepared to have your mind blown! Would highly recommend and would definitely visit again!

This is such an awesome place to go to! Whether you're on a date, with your family, or taking your kids out, there's something for everyone here! The place is huge, and there’s just so much to do! I love how you can wander around and explore so many different areas, and every corner seems to offer something new. Honestly, I could easily spend the whole day here and not get bored. I was so fascinated by everything on offer. It’s not only entertaining, but it's also a place that can bring out the laughter in you. Whether you're enjoying the fun activities or just taking in the surroundings, you’ll find yourself smiling throughout. Plus, it’s a great spot to take awesome photos with your loved ones. The vibe here makes it perfect for creating some lasting memories. I highly recommend checking this place out —it’s fun, lively, and you can truly enjoy yourself. There’s so much to explore and do, and it’s definitely a place you’ll want to return to. If you're looking for a place to have a blast, make some memories, and laugh a lot, this is definitely the spot to try!

An absolute mind-bending experience! The Museum of Illusions at The Zone in Rosebank is a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique and fun activity in Joburg. The exhibits are diverse, interactive, and cleverly designed to trick your brain into seeing things that aren't quite what they seem. The holograms and stereograms are incredibly realistic, and the immersive rooms will have you questioning reality. I particularly enjoyed the interactive optical illusions that had me scratching my head. The museum is well-suited for all ages, it’s fun and educational! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They were also very enthusiastic to help with photos. The facilities are clean, and the overall atmosphere is lively and engaging. Whether you're a local looking for something new to do or a tourist seeking a unique experience, the Museum of Illusions is a great addition to Joburg's entertainment scene. Don't miss out on this thought-provoking and entertaining experience! Be prepared for some amazing photo opportunities!

There are some amazing things for kids to ponder. My kids loved the experience!

For us as parents, we were frustrated because the rules online say they manage how many people are on the floor per session but the route bottle necks at certain displays and the staff make no effort to ensure that everyone is getting fair time at the specific piece. Since people are people and it takes all kinds to make up a world, you get stuck behind entitled families who think they can repeat turns ahead of you and those parents do not care that your little ones need a turn as well. Then photo and selfie junkies think they have a planned photo shoot and spend far too much time posing to get the 100th perfect picture. If only staff were assigned to these popular points to manage the length of time at each display... There is a puzzle section where you can test your logic skills, that has many people fumbling over the puzzles. There wasn't any assistance for the kids on the difficult items - some of us adults don't even know how to solve those 3D puzzles, so a guide would have been great (perhaps there was one but with so many people on the floor we missed it). I was disappointed with the number of people and children touching these things and no sanitizer in sight. I watched someone sneeze all over the puzzles and took that as our cue to move on. We were relieved to get out and be away from the crowds. All in all, while the kids talked about it a lot and loved it, we felt that it was an expensive family outing that frustrated us due to unmanaged numbers...

If you're looking for a fun, mind-bending experience that's perfect for a solo outing, a date, a family adventure, or a group of friends - the Museum of lllusions at The Zone, Rosebank, should definitely be on your list!

From the moment you step inside, you're pulled into a world where nothing is quite what it seems. Get ready to question your senses, snap some unforgettable photos, and share plenty of laughs along the way.

With over 60 exhibits to explore - like the Vortex Tunnel and the Infinity Room - you'll want to take your time and enjoy every moment.

The best part? The staff are absolutely fantastic - super friendly, patient, and always happy to help you get that perfect shot! Everything is very interactive, making it an awesome experience for all ages.

Bookings are optional but highly recommended especially over weekends, as sessions fill up quickly. The museum is child-friendly group-friendly, and just a whole lot of fun for anyone looking for something a little different.

Whether you're celebrating a special moment, looking for a unique date idea, or simply wanting to try something new, the Museum of Illusions offers a memorable experience you'll be talking about long after you leave. Don't forget to charge your phone and maybe a power bank too ⁃ you're going to want loads of pics!
