Hotels are meant to be y/our comfort zone or place where the hosts must make their guests (clients) feel welcomed and treat them in a respectful and Honorable manner with high level of Etiquette. We shouldn't have to explain ourselves and we are paying so even more care should be taken with the host team. Each one should be trained so well that even a difficult client is kept feeling at ease and secure. At this establishment most of the interaction that took place with the hosts was pleasant. We arrived just after midnight and the one receptionist after doing the booking couldn't find a complementary toothpaste/brush. We called a few times the next morning the help desk, reception and house-keeping, but to no avail. When finally they did send an extra bath sheet water & paste. We went out for our work at 5am returned at 8.40am, took a nap and then afterwards went for breakfast, where we were 5 minutes after the final time which was 10am or 10.30am and we unfortunately couldn't get anything besides a juice and few slices of fruit that wasn't sweet or even perfectly ripe. There was a person that made us feel as if we were criminals, after the restaurant host took our room number at the entrance. They were already 70 to 80 percent cleared up and couldn't really make any plan to even get us anything (which I understand perfectly well the time was up). However they could have made us feel warmly welcomed. I also don't blame these persons. It's the hotel group WHO SHOULD BE IMPROVING THEIR ESTABLISHMENT & STAFF. They should have THIS in MIND, "WE ARE IN THIS INDUSTRY AND WE MUST BE PROVIDING THE BEST STANDARDS SERVICE QUALITY ETC, AS POSSIBLE" ... and this goes for every one in every business and service industry, that the goal is to provide a good service and we aim to make our clients benefit etc
I would stay here again and my review is only meant to encourage growth and success. That, we here is SA must up and improve our standards service quality and provide everything at a good reasonable price. When the intention is good, that is to make clients benefit by really doing our best, etc, then naturally the system will attract will good and everyone wins and is happy
We must apply such a concerted effort that will improve our business and the service we offer.
We grew up using Southern Sun is SA majority of the time and they have Always been providing 3 to 4 Star service. I pray & hope they and all others will aim to provide 5 to 7 star standards service and quality and charge 1 to 2 star rates. This is easily possible. The trick is to be TRUE Tolerant and generous and to rid the vices away, i.e. greed selfishness arrogance anger pride laziness, etc. The Ignorant won't agree and those that agree...

We complained and they said it was not their fault, because most likely the previous guest had covered it to smoke in the room. However, we think it is the hotel responsibility to check for security devices (not only to check what you took from the minibar), and the room did not smell like cigarettes at all, so we doubt that the previous guest smoked in the room.|• All the electricity sockets in the room (except TV and minibar) get DISCONNECTED when you switch off the lights to go to bed. This INCLUDED the electricity socket for the phone in the room (it is an IP phone that requires power), resulting in no phone when you switch off the lights. This is extremely unusual (it is the first time I see this in a hotel) and no one warned us about this. Consequently, when we went to bed and switched off the light, both our mobile phones stopped charging and got discharged along the night. This caused that the mobile phones’ morning wake up did not work. Since room phone did not work, we did not get the wake-up call that we had requested from the front desk. The result is that we woke up late and we missed our tour. This was very bad, but it would have been MUCH worse if we would have missed an important business meeting. We complained about this, and their only answer was that they were very sorry.|• They gave us a room in an old area of the hotel. When we asked to be moved to a room in the renovated area, they said that it was a different rate. However, when we booked no option was given for old/new room, and also there was no indication that the room would be in an old area. I considered this is cheating us, because they offer you a room that you give for granted that is normal conditions, and then you find out that it is an old room in bad conditions.|• We had to go to the airport, and we asked to be able to take breakfast ten minutes ahead of the formal opening time, seeing that the buffet was ready and there were already several waiters. They told us that it was against regulation. I know they are not obliged to allow us, but in a four star hotel I would have expected a little...
