I am writing to formally express my complete dissatisfaction with the appalling service I received at News Café Rosebank on December 30, 2024. The experience was nothing short of disgraceful and demonstrated a blatant disregard for customer care.
From the moment we arrived, we were subjected to shockingly poor service. We waited an unacceptable 90 minutes before a waiter even acknowledged our presence, which is entirely inexcusable for any establishment claiming to provide quality service. When the waiter finally arrived, we were served drinks that we did not order, yet we were still forced to pay for them.
When we questioned this with the waiter and escalated the matter to the manager, Robert, the response was both dismissive and outright unprofessional. Rather than addressing our concerns, Robert had the audacity to say, âYou wonât accuse my staff of bad hospitality,â instead of taking accountability for the mistakes made. This level of arrogance and lack of professionalism is unacceptable for anyone in a managerial role.
The poor treatment did not end there. The waiter displayed a noticeable attitude when questioned about the incorrect drinks, making an already frustrating situation worse. To add insult to injury, some of the other staff were seen laughing at us when we politely asked for assistance. This behavior was not only disrespectful but entirely unbefitting of any customer-facing role.
To compound the issue further, we waited an additional 30 minutes for the bill after repeatedly requesting it. Such delays and disregard for customersâ time are appalling and completely unacceptable.
This experience was a complete failure on every levelâpoor service, unprofessional staff, and an unwillingness to take responsibility for errors.    Read moreHi there, on the 30th of April I was rushing for my flight. I had a food parcel in my hand that was leaking from a vegan cafe inside the zone. I had just had a allergy attack and was towing around my suitcase and two bags with me and so The News Cafe was the closest to me while waiting for my Uber. I asked them very politely if they could give me a take away container or paper bag or packet that I could put the good parcel in so I could give it to someone. Of course I would have paid. The waitress, another waiter, and what I think was the manager were all standing there and apparently first they said they're not allowed to sell take away containers. Then that they don't have any. And they were EXTREMELY, ABSOLUTELY RUDE AND UNPLEASANT. I even offered to buy something from the cafe, I just didn't 2ant to give the food away to someone in the packaging it was in - it was fresh food, untouched and could've provided a meal to someone who hasn't eaten in a while.
