Greetings To whom it may concern.
Dear Spur Knysna Management Team,
I stephen de klerk ,am writing to express my extreme disappointment and concern regarding my recent dining experience at your establishment on 22/09/2024. Despite the excellent service provided by our waiter, the food quality was alarmingly subpar.
Order Details:
• Meal: Eisbein with chips and onion rings • Time: 13:15-2:00pm • Server: christine/chesnay her name starts with a ch
Issues Encountered:
1. Insufficient chips (initially only 12 pieces) 2. Undercooked and raw Eisbein 3. Dry and unpleasant-tasting onion rings with an off-putting smell
Consequences:
After consuming the meal, I experienced severe adverse reactions, including:
• Numbness • Dizziness • Vomiting • Fatigue
Regrettably, I shared some of the Eisbein with my 2-year-old child and partner , who also suffered similar symptoms, including stomach issues and numbness, resulting in missed school days.
I am compelled to bring this to your attention, not to publicly shame or blame, but to ensure that corrective actions are taken to prevent future incidents. As a result of this experience, I have been forced to take time off work due to illness, incurring unnecessary inconvenience and financial loss.
I request:
1. A thorough investigation into this matter 2. Immediate corrective actions to address food quality and safety concerns 3. Compensation for medical expenses and lost income (if deemed appropriate)
I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to a constructive...

I popped in on a frosty Monday night, naïvely thinking I’d enjoy a quick, cosy dinner. The restaurant was half empty, which I optimistically took as a sign of peace and quiet rather than the giant, flashing warning it actually was. I ordered the simplest thing imaginable: a small rump steak and a sparkling water. The water arrived quickly — a dazzling display of efficiency that clearly exhausted the staff for the rest of the evening.
Then… the wait. Fifteen minutes passed, then twenty. I began to wonder if they were still negotiating with the cow about its posthumous career options. By thirty minutes, I felt I’d aged at least a decade, and the steak I was hoping to consume was probably still alive somewhere, blissfully unaware of my suffering.
When I finally gave up and paid for my lonely glass of water, I let the cashier know I was leaving. Her reaction was so gloriously indifferent it could win awards. I’m convinced her apathy is a finely honed skill, cultivated through years of intense training.
So, if you’re after food, warmth, or even the slightest hint that anyone cares you exist, Falcon Creek Spur is not your place. But if you’re in the market for a soul-crushing exercise in futility, served with a side of staff who would rather be on literally any other planet, then by all means — pull up a chair and settle in for the most thrilling half-hour of absolutely nothing you’ll...
Read morePoor service from the second we walked in. My husband and I stood at the door waiting to be seated for 10min while staff ran past us, without so much as a greeting.
Once eventually seated we advised the waiter that we will only be having desserts... She stated that the desserts will take long, as there is only 1 person working at the dessert station. We ordered none the less...
I had a chocolate Brownie and my husband had the waffles. When the dessert arrived we were only given knives and forks, no spoons for the ice cream. The Brownie I had ordered was so dry, it was even crumbling on the inside, needless to say i did not finish the brownie. Our waitress also just dropped the desserts at out table without saying anything, then just disappeared, never to be seen again until we asked for the bill and got up to pay.
The restaurant also seemed to be very chaotic, even though it was not busy, with servers running around.
Not the standard of Spur we are used to. Quiet disappointing, sine we do...
