Beware of the EMS/Overseas shipping services located at Lotte Mart Seoul Station. The weighing scale is inaccurate, adding extra weight to your parcels. From my experience, parcel that is 10kg and above, an extra 10kg would be added. Example: parcel actual weight is 12kg, EMS weighing scale would shows 22kg instead. Parcel weighing lesser than 10kg, the extra weight differs between 2kg to 5kg. Baseline, whatever it is, extra weight will be added, without you knowing.

My friends and I have weighed all our luggage and parcels at our hotel before heading to Lotte Mart shipping services. My friend also brought along a portable manual weighing scale as well. We were shocked when we placed our luggage and parcels on the scale. None of the items are of accurate weight.

When we highlighted this issue to the staff at the counter, he replied that he was new to this job and contacted a manager on the phone. The manager response was that so far, nobody has brought up any issues regarding this. Hence, they don't think this is of any issue.

We were speechless by their nonchalant response. Given that my parcel is only 10kg, but they are going to charge me based on 20kg is way overboard.

In the past, we would usually use this overseas shipping service in Lotte Mart as it was much cheaper to pay for the shipping fees as compared to purchasing extra checked-in baggage.

But this time round, we decided to purchase from our airlines extra checked-in bagge instead as it was much more reasonable.

I hope Lotte Mart or Lotte Shipping would seriously look into this matter. This is definitely considering as a cheating case if your weighing scale is adding so much extra weight...

There's diff brands section, Innisfree, Tony Molly, Saem and even a daiso inside. I skipped the daiso as there is a larger one outside near the Seoul station. Daiso takes up too much time.

There is a place to sit and eat. Server speaks English, Mandarin and Japanese. Their set meal is not bad, noodles to get 3 gyoza free. Got a bundle meal, rice + noodles + juice for 9000W. Photo and video inside review.

A point to note, the sales ajumma who sells banchan, when u tell her u want certain weight, she will likely exceed it and later tries to give u some free. If u only want to buy some to taste, tell her to repack it. I took it, coz heavier means I eat more too. Only sampled what I want and bought it. Try don't sample too many, when u don't buy ... u get colours from the sales lady.

Big selection of local Korea daily items. I bought masks, spam, instant noodles, some sauces, tea of all kinds, drinks and etc etc. I had a small trolley full too.

Came twice. Place closes at 12am.

For tax refund, u can do it at the store. Pay first, the go to their counter at the side of entrance, if refund by card, will take a couple of hours later to reflect. Very easy.

Like it when u need not go airport to refund. No point tax refunding at the airport if ur sum is not huge. About a 2percent refund only for the hassle. Supermarket or places who can refund on the spot is worth the experience if the Q is not long when ur items is not that costly♻️
