Behold Manchunjeon, this auxiliary hall of Sajeongjeon Hall (사정전; 思政殿) -- the executive office for the King in Gyeongbokgung Palace, nestled east of Sajeongjeon Hall, wasn't just a beautiful structure - though its ornate, multi-tiered roof, painted in a dazzling spectrum of greens, reds, yellows, and blues, is a feast for the eyes. Within its red-pillared embrace and behind its intricately patterned green and white doors, this pavilion served as a crucial meeting spot for the king and his court during winter and early spring. Above the entrance, the wooden plaque bearing, inscribed in elegant Chinese characters - 萬春殿 (만춘전) "Pavilion of Ten Thousand Springs" - speaks volumes of the Joseon dynasty's aspiration for enduring righteous governance.
