I met Eugen for the first time in 2010, when I was looking for jewelry-classes. I had been looking for quite some time already, but all I had found was courses, where I would start with 60 hours only working with wax. When I almost gave up I found Eugen's "taller" and it was the perfect match, because I could immediately start with working with metal. Eugen is a great teacher ! Classes with him are "learning-by-doing" under his guidance, where he shows profound knowledge and professionality. With him I can learn at my own rythm and he explains as much as I wish to learn and ask. I love that classes don't start at a specific date and that there is pupils of different levels. The amount of pupils per course is limited, so that there is enough space and attention for everyone.

But of course besides being a teacher, primarily Eugen is a true artist as gold- and silversmith. His new shop close to Barcelona's "Born"-area is a nice and welcoming place, where his beautiful handmade and unique pieces can be admired and purchased at really decent prices. His design is as clear and ageless as well as contemporary and often he creates surprising effects by combining unusual materials.

So wether you're looking for buying a unique, handmade piece of jewlery of great quality, or for taking a jewelry-course in nice and familiar atmosphere with a fantastic multi-lingual teacher, you should definitely pass-by at Eugen's shop...

Eugen Steier is a fabulously attentive and skilled jeweler. For me, buying a piece of jewellery was a first-timer, and Eugen helped me by guiding me in my thinking process of what I had in mind. I felt he took the generous time to understand my personal preferences and considerations. Because the ring I bought did not fit my partners finger, we returned and Eugen created an entirely new ring in the right size in a short amount of time (which did not cost more). Be careful to not stick around for too long, as Eugen is extremely friendly... Luckily there is a coffee machine ;)

In terms of craft - although I am not knowledgeable - I am dazzled with his rugged yet scintillating almost moon-surface-like style. However - as my partner prefers more classic designs - classic style is also in the arsenal of Eugen.
