This apartment has the foundation to be a lovely place, but so many things failed my group of 4.
We selected a 2 bedroom apartment and were given the apartment on the 4th Fl. The apartment itself is very roomy, but that's the only pro. It all goes downhill from hereon.
Our wifi did not work. We tried every corner of the apartment and our free LTE from our US provider (T-mobile) ended up being the sole internet provider for all four of us. NO HOT WATER! Not even warm water! We stayed for a total of three nights and both restrooms offered no warm water. Four tourists stuck taking cold showers during "winter" season in Barcelona. Fun. Apartment is also not "soundproof" as stated and the streets get noisy at night. Very lucky that earplugs are a thing bc they saved us.
Now the worst part of the trip - The staff. I wish I got the names down of the people, but I didn't. So I'm hoping the owner of this property can pinpoint this on his own. The lady with blonde hair who checked us in was fine, but the taller non-gentleman who we saw for the rest of our stay wasn't. he's tall with dark curly hair tied in a ponytail. He was awfully rude to us. We asked if the property had one extra night for us to pay+stay due to a late flight, and he told us no - which is fine. We then asked if we could possibly check out a bit past 11AM and we can pay extra, and he was very firm on the 11AM checkout - which is also fine. What's NOT fine is the day we checked out. We mentioned to him that we would be leaving our luggage in the shop after checkout and he told us the night prior checkout that it was no problem. We were downstairs at 10:55AM the day of our checkout and found the shop (Inspired Gallery - where they do checkins and checkouts) was closed. What? Gates were down, lights were off. We lingered around with another couple from FL 3 who also wanted to check out for a few minutes. Now it's 11:10AM and still no one in sight. How does a shop have a 10AM opening time and it's 70 mins past and no one is still at work? How is 11AM the checkout time but there's no one in sight to help with the checkout + luggage? We ended up having the call Jordi who is the owner of the building. He told us that someone will be at the shop in 1 minute. It's now 11:20AM and the rude guy with the ponytail finally shows up. First thing he did? Not say sorry! He yelled at us! And told us sarcastically "thanks for calling Jordi. you didn't have to do that. you can just wait outside". Excuse me? How the heck were we suppose to know what was going on? And why was it on us to protect you from getting yelled at by your boss when you're late for work? If he knew he was going to be late for work, he should've told us we had an extra 10-15min for checkout the night before instead of making us wait out in the cold. We then proceeded to ignore his mean remarks since we had to leave our luggage at the gallery for a few hours. He angrily told us to bring our stuff down to their small basement through narrow curvy stairs ourselves. This was said to one male, and two pregnant women (myself included). Wow. Nice. Make two pregnant ladies go down the stairs with their heavy luggage.
I will never be back and will advise everyone to stay away. The apartment has kinks that can be fixed such as the WiFi and boiler, but you can't fix people. He was so disrespectful and essentially...
