I recently had the opportunity to visit the Plaza de Toros de La Malagueta, an iconic landmark I discovered through a tourist guide from oldtownmalaga.com, and it was a truly memorable experience. This historic bullring, located in the heart of Málaga, is a testament to the city's rich cultural heritage and offers a unique glimpse into Spanish traditions.
The architecture of the Plaza de Toros de La Malagueta is simply stunning. Built in the late 19th century, its neomudéjar style with intricate details and vibrant colors makes it a visual delight. As you walk around the bullring, you can't help but admire the craftsmanship and historical significance of this beautiful structure.
During my visit, I had the chance to explore the Museo Taurino, located within the bullring. The museum provides an in-depth look at the history of bullfighting in Málaga, featuring an impressive collection of costumes, photographs, and memorabilia. It was fascinating to learn about the traditions and famous matadors who have graced this arena over the years.
One of the highlights of the visit was standing in the center of the bullring. The feeling of being in such a historic and iconic place was truly special. The guide from oldtownmalaga.com was incredibly helpful, offering insights and anecdotes that enriched the experience. Their detailed information about the bullring's history and its role in Málaga's culture added depth to my visit.
The Plaza de Toros de La Malagueta also hosts various cultural events and concerts, making it a vibrant hub of activity. It's not just a place for bullfighting enthusiasts but also for those interested in experiencing the cultural heartbeat of Málaga.
In summary, the Plaza de Toros de La Malagueta is a must-visit for anyone interested in Spanish culture and history. Its stunning architecture, rich history, and cultural significance make it an essential stop in Málaga. I highly recommend using the guide from oldtownmalaga.com to plan your visit and gain a deeper understanding of this...
Read moreWe were so excited to come and visit this place, but when we arrived at the door they let us in without saying anything we’ve met people taking pictures and there was cleaners cleaning around and when we entered the arena as it was open we started taking pictures and in less then a minute all of a sudden the security came shouting at us saying what we were doing there without explaining anything he started screaming I am Calling the police and started saying for us to stop and don’t move , It was scary. My wife started crying and My Son there was no signs Anywhere saying we can’t go in as everything was open. So please be aware before you get in because apparently we’re not allowed to have a look at the arena, so what’s the point being open? I am definitely NOT going back to that place again the way we were treated. Really spoiled my day I don’t know why we deserve to be treated like that, to be threatened with being arrested etc, why not just tell us to leave all we did was take a photo it’s not like we were destroying valuable objects nor stealing and the guard decided to treat us like that?
I had to fight my battle saying that there was no signs around saying anything and if cleaners saw us, why didn’t they stop us saying don’t take pictures don’t go in their.
At the end,...
Read moreHorrific to see and know what takes place there. I do not understand how people not only support, but could be entertained by this. It is not a "bullfight". The bulls have no choice and are forced to "fight" until their slow, painful death succumbs them. They cannot leave. It is nothing more than another idiotic display of machoism (but again not really since the bulls can't escape) that unfortunately involves animal torture and killings. I cannot fathom these things are still occurring. PLEASE STOP SUPPORTING ANY KIND OF "ENTERTAINMENT" INVOLVING ANIMALS. They are forced to perform and not properly...
