I stumbled upon the Statue of Gustav III while exploring Stockholm, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my walk. The statue stands proudly right on the waterfront at Skeppsbron, with the Royal Palace just a few steps away and the charming streets of Gamla Stan right behind. It really feels like the heart of the city.

The statue itself is beautiful – Gustav III looks like he’s greeting the harbor, extending his hand out toward the sea. Knowing he was such a big supporter of the arts and culture in Sweden makes the monument even more meaningful. You can almost imagine him welcoming ships and guests into Stockholm centuries ago.

What really struck me, though, was the view. From the base of the statue you get a stunning panorama: boats gliding across the water, the palace on one side, and the old town rooftops on the other. I stopped here for a while just to take it all in, and it was such a peaceful, relaxing moment in the middle of sightseeing.

It’s not just a statue – it’s a perfect photo spot, a slice of history, and a great place to catch your breath. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re...
