So, I“m getting married in a week and for my wedding I decided to get a tailor-made suit (I mean the groom needs to look great too, right?).
I“d heard great things about Suitsupply and got an appointment at their store in Stockholm in February with a person called Linus. Linus understood me right away and his knowledge and sharp eye was impressive. HOWEVER, what makes Linus even more impressive, is when things didn“t go exactly as anticipated.
The fitting went well, and my suit should have arrived in 4-6 weeks. March went by and in the end of April I still had no suit. I started following the order through the tracking number daily, and every day I saw the expected delivery date moving further and further away. Frustrating⦠I contacted Suitsupplyās customer support, and it turned out the shipment was stuck somewhere in the Netherlands and couldnĀ“t for some reason be released. I was offered full refund, but that would have left me without a suit (and little time left to get a new one). I tried to see if there were alternative ways to solve the issue, but I didnĀ“t get far by chatting with themā¦So, I called Linus.
I could feel, when talking to Linus, that he wouldnāt allow me to walk in another brandās suit on my big day than the one we had planned together. He didnĀ“t make excuses about why the shipment was late and didnĀ“t blame anyone else. He recognized the problem, understood my frustration, and wanted to find a solution.
To make things a bit trickier, I“m getting married in Finland and needed to travel from Sweden to Finland right about the time I spoke to Linus. I still remember his words when proposing his solution:
āI know you might not have high trust in us at the moment, but we want to make sure you can walk in your suit on your big day. I have an idea and it might sound crazy to you, but it might work. I have your measures, let me order a new suit and have it shipped directly to you in Finland or to our store in Helsinki. In Helsinki I have a great colleague (he was right, Konsta is equally brilliant as Linus), and we can book you a time with him and make sure everything fits as it should when you pick it up. During the process you will always be able to contact me, and I will make sure you get the assistance you need.ā
Even if I only met Linus once during the initial fitting, I trusted him and his determination to get this solved, and IĀ“m glad I went with his idea. In the end Linusā plan worked, and I finally have my wedding suit!
Learning: Things donĀ“t always go as planned, and sometimes things are out of oneās control. In these situations, maybe there isnĀ“t a solution to be found. BUT if there is a chance there is: Be Linus!
