We went there on the 1st of Jan 2025 hoping to see African masks, statues and tribal art from around the world, supposedly out of their "7000" items the collection is made off. Collection Barbier-Mueller is one of the most renowned in the world, published in countless specialised books.

Unfortunately, we were highly disappointed and felt lured when we realised that none of the above is actually exhibited at the moment, it's all in their private houses, not for the public eyes. Only 1 African mask??!? Is that a joke? Out of their thousands objects they have, they should be ashamed to show...

I had an amazing experience at this hidden gem in the heart of Geneva's charming Old Town! With its soft lighting, the museum has an intimate atmosphere that enhances the Indigenous art on display. You’ll find objects from all over the world, something that you won't find in other usual museums. It truly offers a chance to explore different cultures and on top of that, the staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly, making the visit even more enjoyable. Definitely a must-see for...

What a surprise in Geneva! Small museum hidden in the old town. I visited the exhibition of Miquel Barcelo and I was impressed. One of the nicest I have seen recently. The pieces, both from Barcelo and from the Museum are exquisite.

If you think all these African and Oceanian mask are not your thing, visit this museum: small, very well presented. And they have seats in every exhibition room (and flex ones that you can carry)! Recommended!

It’s a bit expensive private collection not a museum. As such not very rich though intetesting. It takes no more than 30 minutes to watch everything. Including the completaly appendix glass art objects.
