We visited Molino after being very highly recommended to be completely disappointed on our visit. After arriving we ordered a bottle of wine and also some water, once the wine arrived it took a further 2 occasions of us asking for the water for it to finally appear. We order the trio of bruschetta as a starter to share, which was really lovely. However whilst we were eating the starter, I was presented with my main course of tagliatelle frutti da mare TWICE and my partners bolognaise on the second appearance of my seafood pasta. On both occasions I made it clear I was still eating my starter and the waiter took it away. Following the completion of our starter, our waiter promptly cleared the starter plates and our main courses were served almost instantaneously. It was blatantly obvious the main courses where just placed on the pass to ‘keep warm’ after they where presented to us incorrectly and this was clear to us as my partners was freezing cold and my pasta felt resembled leather. The only saviours of this whole experience was that the wine was delicious and that the couple on the table next to us (who were also disappointed with their food and service) were great company.
We were wholeheartedly disappointed with our visit to Molino. Whilst we understand Saturdays are very busy in this industry, we where looking forward to this reservation as a highlight of our weekend in Geneva, and we where left with a sour taste of this experience and would not be likely to return nor recommend this to our friends or family at any point...
Read moreMaybe this was down to French not being our first language, but our experience this evening was really bad. Our waiter just seemed to put through things we didn't order. We ordered a children's prosciutto pizza and the waiter put it through as a mushroom (fungi) pizza even though we never said the words funghi or even champignons (given it said 'pizza fungi bambini' on the bill). So it gets delivered with mushrooms on, we say that we ordered a prosciutto pizza and not mushrooms and then it comes back with some ham chucked onto it and the mushrooms having been (poorly) scraped off. We had to then push to have a new pizza made as it still had mushroom bits over it.
In addition, having had to use a QR code to access the drinks menu, my wife ordered a 'Vino Spritz con Sprite' directly off the menu. The waiter brings a bottle of Sprite over when we say that's not what we ordered he then finally brings a glass of wine. When the bill arrives, they're charged separately for a total of CHF 13.80 as opposed to the CHF 9 on the menu. I tried to explain this to the waiter however he didn't seem to want to know about it and by this point I just wanted to get out so paid the bill as it was and left.
No issue with the food quality itself but certainly won't...
Read moreFood was okay and service was fine. I’m not one to leave reviews but seeing as I referred to Google reviews to pick this restaurant I feel there needs to be an accurate one.
For a causal meal with no expectations, this restaurant is good! The food was good but nothing special. However, if you’re looking for delicious food and great service in addition to a pretty nice atmosphere, look elsewhere.
As someone who has worked as a server in 3 restaurants, 2 of them being higher scale, I thought the service was below average.
Not all servers (some helped our table that were very friendly and attentive), but our servers were hard to get to help us with things like getting the check or another glass of wine. With an already low bar, our female server (the second one that came to our table because I guess we needed 2 servers to do the job of one mediocre server) seemed somewhat annoyed when we ordered and when we asked for her attention to get the check (?) (she saw us and kind of nodded but then never came back the rest of our time there?).
Overall it’s a fine restaurant and has some good food, it just seems we were unlucky with the servers...
