Great place with gorgeous views of the cityscape and the surrounding mountains. Other than the observatory, there are many other choices to view from above in the taipei 101 office building. The cheapest would be starbucks, where you can have a meal and view from the 35th floor. However, there are many things to note when coming here for Starbucks. You would need to reserve a spot through phone, and queue at the first floor before the staff brings you up to the cafe, where you can choose your seats. It is recommended that you make a reservation at least a few weeks before the actual visit, as the order in which you go into the cafe to choose the best seats would be by the order in which the customers booked their seats. If you are living overseas, overseas calls are expensive for foreigners and you could choose to ask a friend in Taiwan to help you book, or in a month long visit book for the last few days of your trip. If not, the other earlier bookers would occupy all the window seats, and if you are the late bookers and are called into the cafe last you cannot have a seat with good views, and when you try to peek over a luckier guest's shoulder to see the view they would probably give you a glare or try to block you, which is what is experienced when I came here. This place is worth the visit, but when tying to book a spot in Starbucks at taipei 101 these are the simple but very important tips you should take note of. P.s. You should be very clear of what you exactly want to eat before even stepping foot into the cafe, as the stocks are very limited. Upon entering the cafe, grab your belongings and throw them on a seat with good views, then rush(run real fast) to the counter to immediately order, lest they run...
Read moreVisiting Taipei 101 was an experience I highly recommend. Despite the anticipation that built up while waiting in line and purchasing tickets, the entire visit was well worth it. The view from the top is nothing short of amazing, offering panoramic sights of Taipei that can't be seen anywhere else. It's a unique opportunity to see the city from such an incredible vantage point, and it truly puts the beauty of Taipei into perspective.
The elevator ride to the observation deck is an adventure in itself. As one of the fastest elevators in the world, it provides a remarkably smooth and rapid ascent, making the journey to the top as exciting as the view waiting for you. The sensation of moving so quickly upwards and then back down is quite unique and adds to the overall experience of visiting Taipei 101.
In summary, Taipei 101 is definitely worth a visit for anyone coming to Taipei. The blend of architectural ingenuity, swift elevators, and unparalleled views make for an unforgettable experience. Don't miss the chance to see Taipei from its most...
Read moreIt takes a long time just to get to this station, if you're coming by the MRT. Mainly cause most of the Red Line trains decide to end it's service at Da'an for some reason, so you've gotta wait like 8 minutes just for the train to Xiangshan to come. But, anyways though, this underground station is one of the few to have full height platform screen doors, and walk to the exit for Taipei 101. Upon exiting, look up. You can see how tall the Taipei 101 is up close [500+ meters], and this MRT is located right next to the shopping centre for Taipei 101 as well! Want a better view? Take the MRT to Xiangshan and trek up the mountain. It might be tiring, but the views for the Taipei 101 and the city skyline is...
