B Cat Cafe: Purrfect Playdate for Cats & Kids in Phuket Old Town
As a single dad homeschooling two curious kids (10 and 9), I'm always on the lookout for unique and engaging learning experiences. Our recent exploration of Phuket Old Town led us to B Cat Cafe, a haven for feline fans and a delightful surprise for all of us.
Pricing & Options:
Entering B Cat Cafe ( play part ) requires a fee, offering two choices: 110 baht for just entry to play, or 189 baht for entry with a drink included. We opted for the latter, enjoying refreshing iced beverages while surrounded by furry friends.
Supervised Fun & Feline Friends:
The cafe boasts separate areas: a regular cafe section and a dedicated cat play area. Shoes are a no-no in the play area, emphasizing cleanliness and respect for the cats' well-being. Speaking of feline residents, around 20 cats of various breeds and personalities call B Cat Cafe home. From playful Siamese to laid-back Persians and Mancoons, we encountered a delightful mix of personalities that kept us entertained.
Sensory Overload (Briefly):
Admittedly, upon entering the play area, a slightly strong cat odor hit us. However, it's important to remember these are well-cared-for cats in a confined space. Thankfully, the smell diminished quickly, allowing us to focus on the purrfect company.
Endless Entertainment:
One of the best aspects of B Cat Cafe is the flexibility. You can stay as long as you like, freely coming in and out of the play area to take breaks or rest. This was perfect for my kids, who alternated between energetic play sessions and calming cuddles with the cats. Witnessing their genuine joy and fascination with these unique creatures was priceless.
Homestay Break Bonus:
As a homeschooling dad, finding engaging and educational outings can be challenging. B Cat Cafe offered a welcome break from our usual routine. It wasn't just a fun activity but also a valuable learning experience for the kids. They learned about different cat breeds, responsible pet ownership, and the importance of respect for animals.
Overall Impression:
While the initial odor might be a slight hurdle, B Cat Cafe's combination of playful cats, friendly staff, and flexible playtime makes it a purrfect destination for cat-loving families. For me, it was more than just a cafe visit; it was a valuable bonding experience with my kids and a delightful memory from our Phuket Old...
Read moreWe stumbled into B Cat Cafe after seeing in on a Grab into town. Being a lover of cats I couldn’t resist the opportunity to visit.
We ordered the option of one drink + time in the cat area. For drinks we got Thai teas and a strawberry smoothie.
The drinks themselves were pretty awful. The Thai tea didn’t taste that great and the grass jelly tasted somewhat funky. The strawberry smoothie wasn’t bad but I definitely wouldn’t get it again given the choice.
The cat area itself had lots of seating areas and play toys for you to use with the cats. The inside smelled heavily of cat and cat-related scents, but there are lots of air purifiers running so you get acclimated fairly quickly.
The cats themselves were very friendly and used to humans. Some loved to play while others were busy enjoying their nap time. The atmosphere was very calm and soothing.
If you want to stop inside B Cat Cafe I would definitely recommend paying for the cat time by itself without...
Read moreI came to this cafe to relieve stress, because I really love cats. I paid 360 baht for admission, they promised I could be there for 2 hours. But after 10 minutes of my stay there, I suddenly needed to urgently go to the hotel, give my passport, otherwise I could stay without a place to stay, I asked to leave and they allowed me, but traffic lights and traffic jams blocked my way and I drove 30 minutes there and back. They wouldn't let me in, saying I'd been gone too long. I was terribly upset and left in tears, the staff was rude and indifferent. I needed this pastime so much, but all that mattered was making money. By the way, I have concerns for animals, I have never met such sleepy cats, I hope they are not stuffed with pills for peace of mind. I fell in love with these cats, beautiful and well-groomed, affectionate, my heart melted in their presence and I am glad to be with them for at least 10 minutes, but the administration...
