My husband & I absolutely love Baan Suwantawe. We originally booked for 7 nights but like the hotel & the area as there is just so much to do that we extended our stay for another 3 days.We certainly would recommend this place & would stay here again. The staff do absolutely everything to make you happy & comfortable, basically your wish is there command ! The location is great as it is right across the road from Limelight mall which has reasonable sized supermarket, food court pharmacy, massage place & many other stores.Naka weekend Market is also across the road. There is a nice park next door which is a short cut through to Thalang Rd & numerous restaurants are within walking distance. The staff are very helpful & the cleaning staff keep the place immaculately clean & are very friendly. We had a studio room with terrace overlooking the pool (42 sq M2 ) & had very reliable free wifi, flat screen TV,2 bedside tables & a telephone.Parking is available on site under the building. The king size bed is very firm, the bed linen is crisp white & 4 pillows are provided.A sink, kettle, water boiler & large sized fridge are in your spacious room & 2 bottles of water, tea & coffee are provided every day.A toaster was provided on request. The large white towels in the bathroom are lovely & thick but no flannels/face cloth is provided but this seems common in Thailand. The water pressure in the shower is brilliant & the bath has a handy shower hose attachment which is handy for washing your hair in the bath. There is plenty of wardrobe & cupboard space & toiletries are replaced every day.The room air conditioning is very good,a clothes drying rack /ladder is on the balcony. The pool is a very comfortable temperature & has 8 loungers with mattresses & umbrellas. This seems to be enough as not a lot of people seem to use the pool. There are net curtains as well as thick block out curtains so you can have a sleep in if you wish.Mini bar drinks are in the fridge & also available in the foyer & are at supermarket prices. There is also a small book borrowing section in the foyer. & unlike mnay other places the pool does not close until 9pm .|Small Negatives |The wooden chairs on the balcony are not comfortable but cushions were provided when requested|Plates, cutlery, dishwash detergent, dishcloth & tea towel to use in the kitchenette were not in room on arrival but once again were quickly provided when requested |The bath narrows at one end & I wished the bath went from one end of the wall to the other instead of having a tiled ledge at one end as the bath is too short in length for a Western woman of average height |Unfortunately the air con is turned off in the entry area & foyer at 5.30pm so it is very hot when you come back after a day out.|The freezer in the fridge isn't very cold & can't be adjusted so ice creams...
Read moreI recently stayed at Hotel Baan Suwantawe in Phuket Town for the second time, spending a full month there — and once again, it exceeded my expectations.
At almost 75 years of age, I was seeking accommodation that combined excellent facilities with a convenient location close to shops and essential services. Baan Suwantawe delivered exactly that.
While the hotel’s exterior may appear slightly dated, don’t let that fool you. Inside, the rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, and well-appointed, each featuring a small kitchenette and a balcony with a pleasant outlook. The hotel offers approximately 24 rooms with kitchenettes, along with 3 internal rooms and 5 suites.
A highlight of the property is the large, inviting swimming pool with a sun deck — perfect for relaxing and enjoying Phuket’s tropical weather. Throughout the hotel, there’s a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, and the staff go above and beyond to ensure guests have a comfortable and memorable stay. For added convenience, there’s also a cozy coffee shop in the lobby serving quality drinks at reasonable prices.
Location-wise, Baan Suwantawe is hard to beat. Directly across the road is the Limelight Mall, a modern shopping mall offering a variety of shops and a fantastic food court where you can enjoy a wide selection of delicious Thai dishes at very affordable prices (typically between 65 to 100 baht). Limelight is open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM.
Next door to the mall, you’ll find the Tops 24/7 Supermarket for all your grocery needs. Additionally, a lively night market operates every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4 PM to 10 PM in the laneway beside the mall. And if you're around on Sunday, the famous Phuket Sunday Night Market — full of street food, crafts, and local music — is just one block away.
Transportation is also very convenient: the Phuket Free Tourist Bus stops right outside the hotel, running every 15 minutes from 11 AM to 10 PM — making it easy to explore the town and nearby attractions.
If you are seeking a quiet, comfortable stay in Phuket — away from the main tourist crowds but close to all the amenities you might need — I would highly recommend Hotel...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel for a total of four nights—three nights in a studio with a terrace, followed by one night in a deluxe twin room after spending a night on one of the islands. The deluxe room appeared to be more recently renovated, featuring a nicer bathroom. However, we definitely preferred the spaciousness and outdoor balcony with a pool view in the studio room.||The hotel is well located, just a short walk from Phuket Old Town, with several good restaurants nearby, as well as a shopping mall and a 7-Eleven. If your visit happens to fall over a weekend, don’t miss the Sunday market in the Old Town. You can access it via the park entrance right next to the hotel and enjoy a variety of traditional, inexpensive street food.||The pool and surrounding area were lovely, with towels provided by the hotel. We didn’t get the chance to try the coffee shop in the lobby, despite the 10% discount, but it always smelled amazing, with fresh pastries baked each morning.||Unfortunately, we were disturbed by some very loud guests in the hallway early in the morning on a couple of days. While this was beyond the hotel’s control, it did affect our sleep. The hotel staff were generally fine, but not quite as warm or attentive as we had experienced in other hotels across Southeast Asia.||Overall, the hotel was good value for money, especially considering that many other options in Phuket were significantly more expensive. I would highly recommend staying in the Old Town if you're on a couples' trip or travelling with friends who aren't interested in the party scene. The other main area where tourists tend to stay is Patong, but we were glad we chose Old Town—Patong seemed quite dingy in comparison, lacking the historic charm and culture...
