Excellent food, fair prices, quick service, live music -
This restaurant is located in the heart of the colourful Old Town, only a 10-minute walk away from Hadrian Gate (bus and tram stop) and a 5- minute walk to a splendid view of the Antalaya Gulf. There is a choice of seating: either inside (a court yard) or outside (in the pedestrian zone). During my stays in Antalya I had dinner there several times:
There is a huge choice of about 20 different "meze" (hors d' oeuvres). A sample of each one is presented to the guest so he can see in advance what he will get. The ones I tasted were all freshly made and delicious.
On offer is also a large variety of fish, always fresh and tasty. As a fan of lamb meat, I found the lamb chops consistently juicy, well done and nicely spiced.
The meals are prepared quickly and the service is attentive, the waiters being under constant supervision of the competent manager who speaks good English and helps with the choice of food if you are undecided.
Alcoholic drinks are fairly priced. Pride of place takes Raki: Indeed, the set menus are named according to the amount of Raki you will get ("500 ml" etc.) which for Western tourists is confusing and should be changed according to the main dish ("lamb chops" etc), especially as they prefer to drink just one glass after dinner as a digestif.
The atmosphere is pleasant, even more after 20:00 when there is live Turkish music of a background character. If this is still too loud for you, taking your seat outside should be preferred.
In sum, the „Yemenli“ restaurant is a clear winner in the Old Town, and together with the „Sabah“ Pension next door makes a...
Read moreThe food was fine, I had sea bream it was pleasant and eatable but that just missed the mark on multiple occasions From them skimping on the olive oil to the bread being borderline stale and Having a menu shoved in my face when I asked a question that was clearly not understood standing over the top of me and just babbling and not making much sense. My friend had to be like sorry she meant this. Very strange behaviour.
They the waiters will try and upswell you everything possible I get we are in tourist spot but even then I can’t recall an occasion we’re I would never want to return to a spot.
I think people have come here mistakingly thinking they are going to the place up the road called ayar meyhanesi. That’s the place you should go too.
There are just as good places to eat food without rude and pushy waiters. Eg lady what do you want.
There is one I think the main waiter who really is an embarrassment to this establishment.
0/5 if that was even possible
I wish I had never come here! Horror...
Read moreLocated on one of the most beautiful parts of the city. Cosy inside where there is live music or out on the street. The service is fantastic and the food also. Reasonable prices considering.
However! We were given bread, olives, humous and mint yogurt. After dinner we were given a big plate of fruit. We were told the whole time “this is on the house”. But when the receipt comes the word D. Yemek is added to the bottom of the bill for 280 lira! This translates to Food. May I make a suggestion to the owner. Add a “cover charge” of 3 euros for each guest. We were more than happy to pay the 280 lira for everything we received and had a great meal. But transparency is needed here in order to create the full experience. When you guests enter happy, and are satisfied throughout you do not want to ruin it by small things like this.
We would go back and I recommend this restaurant anyway. We had the lamb stew, lamb skewers and spicy shashlik. Everything was very tasty. I’ve cold beer in...
