If you want to visit the Palm, you have two options - either taxi or take the monorail (the Palm Jumeirah Monorail runs a 5.45 kilometer route from the Gateway Palm to the outlying Atlantis hotel complex). Since the train is not part of the transport network, an extra ticket must be purchased and is not included in the metro/tram day pass, costing 30 AED to and fro. If you take the tram (in the transport association) to the monorail, you get off at a stop, have to go up a stairwell into a parking garage, then walk for about five minutes to the monorail ticket office (but it is well marked - with arrows and boards). The checkout area is only manned by one person, the walk-through machines don't work either, two employees scan the tickets, then you are allowed through (they could do it better!!). Since there are only two trains on the railway in two-way traffic, there are always long waiting times at the end stations. There are seats there, but otherwise it is very monotonous, with the doors for the Monrail on one side and on the other Window. Significant improvements could be made here for tourists by allowing four trains to run. We already knew the Hotel Atlantis, but you can easily get to Nakheel Mall and the “View of the Palm” by monorail. As has often been mentioned, the ride on the monorail is often hyped, which we can't fully understand - the ride is a bit expensive and you drive through high-rise buildings, the development on the trunk often prevents a view of the palm fronds, every now and then you can see them a few luxury villas and a few free areas of land, often also abandoned houses, a small slump in the economy is likely to be felt here too. Although traveling with the Monrail is cheaper than taxis, there is a strong need for improvements!! If this review was helpful to you, please activate the...
Read moreMy first monorail experience not only in Dubai but in my entire life. Working based on trackion method. Not like regular railway tracks. Coming to our monorail experience in palm Jumeriah it is nice view in both sides of the beach.we can experience this near the driver seat itself. Very comfortable ride.i travalled on Eid day so much rush in train. But I have suggestions for the seating arrangement inside the train.currently the seats are opposite to window side. Since we mainly coming for site seeing the seating arrangement can be in windows side same like bus seating method. Single seat is also ok if it is arranged in window seat so that many people can outside by the more open space. Remaining things are good. Security person is always guiding us so it is very helpful for the needy people's. Noce experience all should go atleast once if u...
Read morePalm Monorail is definitely, atleast, a must do one time experience. The ride from Palm Gateway station to Palm Atlantis shows Some great views on both sides. The outdoor water park at Atlantis is a must do as well for small kids as well as Teenagers.
On the way back, you could get down at Nakheel Mall to go upto the view point, to get a view of entire Palm Jumeira Islands (The 2 way monorail ticket allows you entry exit from first and last station only. We had to buy exit ticket to enter the mall from train station which costed 5 AED each.) Tickets to the view point can be purchased online in advance (highly recommended in busy times'), or at the station exit, or right at the entry gate of the view point. It has two decks, both priced separately. The general ticket only has access to the lower floor.
Best view is...
