This is a learning experience for Wylde Jewelers, and one I hope that take to heart to avoid similar reviews like this in the future. We were recommended to this jeweler because we were told they did custom work, to specification. We needed a ring resized but were unwilling to have it rhodium dipped, as the ring was an heirloom gift from a close family friend and had a patina on it from daily wear for over 40 years, and the environmental cost of the chemicals used in the rhodium-dipping process. Wylde jewelers was recommended as a jeweler that takes their customers requests seriously, and we were told when we dropped off the ring that they would resize the ring without dipping it. On the work order was written in big bold letters, “NO RHODIUM”. So we were adequately shocked when we arrived to pick up the ring to find it had been summarily dipped. Gone was the soul of a gorgeous antique ring that had been worn for decades by a family, and it was replaced by a soulless bit of tat that you could find in any shop, anywhere in England; unnecessarily shiny, showy, and completely the opposite of what the ring represented to us as a couple. If that had been all, the worst might have been avoided, but to add insult to injury, the way it was handled made everything infinitely worse. Obviously, my fiancĂ© was crushed, completely crestfallen. She reasonably felt that the ring had been ruined, and an imposter was put in its place. The insult to the injury came through the manager of the store, who handled returning the ring. Seemingly oblivious to my fiancĂ©s deep frustration, he apathetically offered to have the rhodium removed. He didn’t see to console my partner, or own the responsibility of the ring not being changed to specification. His main remark was, “Oh, yes, it does say ‘no rhodium’ on the ticket. Sorry about that.” I didn’t expect him to bend himself into a pretzel, but a customer of his store was in obvious distress over his store’s performance (or lack thereof) and just blindly chugged ahead. Removing the rhodium would not replace decades of loving wear, it would merely create another ring unlike the original, and he seemed to have no conceptualization of this simple, yet obvious fact. My partner had to leave the store entirely, and immediately burst into tears on the sidewalk outside. We got coffee to calm her down, and I ended up retrieving the ring myself and speaking with the manager, who, to his credit did apologize for the way it had been handled. However, there were so many failures of customer service before he ever handled the ring, it does make me wonder at Wylde Jewelers’ entire process. Why was there not special marking or attention made to the fact that the ring would be handled differently from most sizing, where rhodium dipping is just assumed? How did the shop who handled the ring perform a procedure that was boldly outlined as off limits? When the store got it back, why was the ring not checked to make sure it was completed to specification BEFORE we picked it up? If Wylde had done any of these processes, which in my mind are basic, minimal customer service, the dipping might not have taken place, and if it had, they might have given us a heads up before arriving at the store to give us time to process the information instead of seeing the obvious error in the moment it was handed over. I would not recommend Wylde Jewelers to anyone I know, and I will not be returning myself after this interaction. This interaction has completely destroyed my trust in their ability to care for my jewelry as if it was their own, which should be the only way they do business. It obviously is not, and their processes are insensitively lacking. You’re not just dealing with bits of metal and stone, you’re handling peoples past, present, and futures. Shame on you for failing to realize that yourselves. Attached are photos to show the original glow of the ring, versus the gross commercial shine it’s been given after being dipped.

Cannot recommend enough! I had only had my engagement ring 5 months (which was purchased elsewhere) when one of the side stones on the band fell out, and the main stone was getting increasingly looser. I also needed the band resizing as it was too big. I took the ring in to Nicholas Wylde, who informed me that along with the issues I was already aware of, the other side stones were also loose due to the way they were set, and there was a crack in the band under the main stone that they could see with the magnifying glass. Myself and my partner were both obviously disheartened at this as the ring was still practically new. The staff were more than happy to help, but first recommend that we get back in contact with the original seller to see if it could be fixed by them. We were consistently ignored by the original seller, and after this were reluctant to give it back to them anyway. The following week, I took my ring back in to Nicholas Wylde who immediately talked me through all my options to get the ring fixed, provided me with a quote and reassured me that they could fix all the issues and make my ring perfect again. In total, I need a whole new band, all the side stones reset including a replacement for the one that was lost, the main stone tightened, and the band resized. Not a week later, I received a call to say my ring was ready for collection, and I cannot express how much they lived up to their word! My ring is even more beautiful than it was originally, but still looks like my ring. I'm so happy it was in safe hands. All the staff are wonderful and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to Nicholas Wylde in the future. I cannot recommend them enough and I will forever be thankful to them for handling my situation so well. (I've attached photos below of my original ring, the ring just before I took it in to be fixed, and my ring once it had been fixed.)

I chose Wylde in Clifton village partly because it was convenient and because they have a workshop. I took in a very old gypsy ring (my mother’s old engagement ring from 1950’s) with three settings. One of the “stone chips” had fallen out a long time ago and the shank was broken due to wear & tear. My daughter & I were warmly greeted by Belovia who really listened to what we were wanting. She guided us through various options to replace the two white stones (one was already missing) from lab grown diamonds to real diamonds to white sapphires. Belovia was very transparent with costings etc. I trusted her completely and when I got the phone call to say the ring was ready i couldn’t wait to collect it. Fortunately Belovia was working and seeing her so excited to show us what the workshop had achieved was an added bonus. My daughter and I were absolutely thrilled with the ring. It’s even more beautiful as so much love & care has gone into repairing it and bringing a very sentimental piece of family jewellery back to life and to be worn by the next generation. Thank you team Wylde and especially Belovia for her 5* professionalism.

I first went to Nicholas WYLDE in Bristol in 2019 with my fiancé to get our wedding bands. Our experience from the outset was excellent. We were assisted by Kamila who listened thoroughly to our requests and designed a wedding band for me to match my engagement ring. Sadly, Covid caused a two year delay to our wedding but resulted in a few more purchases to mark our missed wedding dates! Each time I dealt with Kamila or Brano they were just brilliant. They listened carefully to what I was after and always delivered.

I purchased all of my bridal party wedding gifts from them this year. Their assistance in helping me to find exactly what I was after made the experience all the more enjoyable. All the detail, from the jewellery itself, to the packaging and aftercare are exceptional. My mother loves her earrings so much she won’t now wear anything else!

Most recently I gave Nicholas Wylde my mother’s engagement ring that I had inherited. Due to significant wear, it needed to be rebuilt as an exact replica of the original with the original stones. Brano talked me through all of the options so I could make an informed decision as to how I wanted to proceed. I was blown away with the end result. It’s incredible! To top it off, at my request, they have made a beautiful diamond band to go with it. The attention to detail has to be seen to be believed. It’s just wonderful and has created an exquisite set. The engagement ring is a very special piece of jewellery and I wouldn’t have trusted any other jewellers to do as they did. I had complete faith that they would meet my hopes and expectations and they smashed it out of the park.

I honestly can’t say enough good things about these guys. The jewellery is beautiful, the skill is outstanding, the staff are attentive, kind and considerate and the overall care is second to none. Nothing is ever too much trouble and I always feel in safe hands with them,

I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

To all the team-Thank you for all the time and effort you have given me over the last few...
