We visited on the 1/7/2023 going to order I was met by a very young girl looking at me and just saying "YES? " a little taken by surprise by the attitude,I placed my order of fish and chips and a curry sauce,I was given a number and told in a very rude and snidely manner to wait round the corner. After around 25 minutes and listening to the staff messing around, joking about other customers and laughing I was finally given my order by another girl, rather surprised at the state of my order I calmly looked at the girl and immediately had my head snapped off with "OH WHATS THE MATTER NOW?" So I said to her very calmly that I thought the fish was rather over cooked, she just huffed and walked away, only for me to hear her state to the chef "SHE THINKS YOUR FISH IS OVER COOKED " No one came to see me and try to rectify the situation.Being extremely hungry by then I walked off to sit on a bench to at least eat something.Trying the fish I had a mouthful of batter, grease and oil, also the chips were still raw inside and the curry sauce was thicker than a jar of pickle and tasteless.Needless to say it went into the bin. I have never been treated like that before,or have I ever tasted anything as awful as this.I do respect and understand that it can be very stressful to work in hospitality, but treating customers like this and serving food that is so far below average is just not on.If I had my way,I would not even give one star,I will never recommend this place to anyone, neither will I ever buy from...

[Food poisoning]I love this place I take my grandchildren and mother here once a month but I have to say standards have been slipping.but yesterday Saturday 13th we decided to eat we had 3 small breakfasts and luckily my granddaughter only wanted ice cream. We had a long wait as they were busy which I understood 45min the food was not that nice my mum didn't eat much but I was hungry so ate must of mine but left half of the sausage as it didn't taste nice. Then we went for a walk and to feed the ducks.well within 15min I got real bad pains in my stomach and had to rush to the toilet I was sick and then the diarrhoea and sweating I know exactly what it was food poisoning had to go home and sit on the toilet for the hole afternoon I'm still not feeling to good today Sunday and still have a little diarrhoea And dont want food .its just such a shame as this cafe was a...

Only wanted a portion of takeaway chips. Given numbered ticket to collect order from around corner of shop. Few people ahead of me. Waiting quite a while but most people getting more complicated orders than me so kept waiting patiently. Then after people behind me in queue started getting their orders, asked when my chips would turn up. Staff member told me he didn't have my ticket number but he will do me some chips. Like he's doing me a favour, giving me the food I've paid for and waited 25 minutes for! No apology for the wait and frankly the chips weren't to my liking. Reminded me of oven chips, quite crispy. Not what I personally like but some will.

I understand mistakes happen but to not even offer an apology. This shop will not get my custom again and I...

Lovely traditional tea rooms in a prime position with nice coffee, lots of ice cream choices and friendly hard working staff. Clearly cherished by the locals who pointed out the breakfast deals. Very dog friendly, our corgi felt very much at home, with a large full water bowl provided. Spaces inside and out to enjoy the views of the boats swans and ducks along the river. Lots of parking options within 5 minute radius.

Why did we bother! Please don’t follow our lead. The fish and chips is disgraceful. Asked on order how long it would be for 4 servings to take away. Told 15 mins. 45 mins later they arrived. Tiny piece of over cooked fish with a handful of chips - for over £9 each. This place needs to be boycotted for their over priced, poorly cooked tiny portions.

Well. The location is nice. The service was friendly and timely. Unfortunately my milkshake arrived warm. £16 for a teeny piece of cod, mushy peas and about 20 dry chips is really not good enough. For the same you can get way more cod and chips elsewhere. Sorry. We left disappointed.
