Having arrived in Scarborough at the rail station and walked down a main shopping street towards the sea, we were disappointed with many closed and vacant shop units, small cafes and charity shops, similar to many northern towns (get at it levelling up man Gove!). However near the end of the street just off the main drag we saw The Market Hall, quite an old building easily 100 years plus, which had been refurbished 6 years ago. Read moreWhat a wonderful place to visit. The market was very appealing with a wide variety of fruit and veg, I could not resist the smell of the peaches which also tasted delicious. Read moreThis is one of our favourite places to visit in the UK. Fantastic selection of stalls and you could easily have a full day out just in here. The vaults section is especially fantastic with arts and crafts to die for. We always head for the little Cafe in the vaults . Its called Bakers and Brew and everything is home made . We had brie and bacon baguettes which were delicious and the bread was lovely and crusty, just how we like it. Very lovely owners who look after everybody like friends. The tea was nice and strong and we cannot fault this little gem of a cafe . Their prices are very, very reasonable especially this day and age with everything rising in cost. Very affordable and great value for money. Visit it when you are in Sunny Scarborough. You wont be...
