A very welcome new addition to dining options on Eastborough, Scarborough. A nice selection of cuisine from Japan and Thailand, with the surprise bonus of Korean Kimchi thrown in there too. The menu is not typical for what you’d usually expect from a Japanese restaurant, but it is more typical for what you’d normally see from a Thai restaurant - I guess that’s what comes from fusion cuisine eateries. We also asked for some off-menu items including simple Avocado hosomaki, and salmon hosomaki which the chef was able to accommodate easily on the Sunday lunchtime that we were there for. They also managed to accommodate a request for iced coffee. Nice portion sizes (larger than expected soup/salad/kimchi dishes, and chunkier sashimi, or maki fillings). Items are labelled for Vegan/Vegetarian options, many dishes have a veg alternative, but don’t be afraid to ask for off-menu items as they were very accommodating overall, and mindful of asking about allergies for your accommodations.

The Nava Sushi Special & Nigiri Special, and the Bento Box were beautifully served, fresh and appetising. We also had an order for Japanese Ramen which was appreciated for it’s simplicity - not overloaded with extra ingredients - as our diner likes their food with no extra surprise foods. The Massaman curry was creamy, sweet and comforting.

The toilet is through the door at the back and upstairs - so there’s no level access for that & no baby change. There is a step outside to enter the restaurant and a tight squeeze for a wheelchair or...

We recently decided to visit Scarborough to celebrate a family birthday, and we were excited to find a restaurant that served the kind of food we enjoy the most. Having seen reviews online, we were hopeful that Nava Sushi would be a good place to eat.

We weren't disappointed.

A small eatery not too far from the seafront, Nava Sushi was just a short walk from the town centre and was easy to find for tourists.

Upon arrival, we were quickly seated and provided with menus. There was a great selection of food and the prices were very reasonable.

My wife chose a ramen dish while I chose a favourite of mine, the Thai green curry. We also had a sushi platter and some crispy duck spring rolls. The food came out fairly quickly and was presented beautifully, especially the sushi platter.

The food was delicious. The curry was one of the best I had eaten in a long time, and the accompaniments were also very tasty. The portion size was just right, and the food was served hot.

The restaurant was clean and tidy, and the service was perfect. The staff were never far away but nor did they bother you whilst working. I appreciate that a lot while I'm dining.

10/10. We would definitely return here to eat. I would recommend Nava Sushi to fans of Asian food while in...

Thank you for your response. I'd like to clarify a few things. On that day, apart from us, there were only two other tables occupied. Most of the seats were empty and not reserved. I don’t understand why you insisted on seating us in the corner. Also, in a mostly empty restaurant, why did you make me put my carry-on bag on the floor? Other customers were allowed to place their bags on the chairs, so why wasn’t I allowed to do the same? If the restaurant had been crowded, I wouldn’t have taken up extra space, but do you think my backpack is too dirty? Additionally, from a communication standpoint, why did your staff speak to us in a commanding tone, even rolling their eyes? Is this how you treat your customers? Regarding the drink we brought in, it was only because after we placed our order, you took a long time to bring our food, and we weren’t even given a glass of water. My wife suffers from severe hypoglycemia, and at that point, her lips were turning white. I had no choice but to let her take a sip of Coke. Instead of asking if she was okay or needed any help, your staff came over to reprimand us and asked us to pour out the Coke and leave. This kind of treatment is difficult for me to understand, and the discrimination we experienced is...
