I’m very disappointed by what happened during my recent experience with City Cruises at Greenwich Pier.
As we were about to board, two City Cruises staff members — a tall local-looking man in his 30s and a young woman — were managing the gate. They smiled and greeted every white passenger before and after us, but when it came to me and my companion (who are not white), they looked at us and said nothing.
This wasn’t a mistake or moment of distraction — it was deliberate. Their behavior was cold and silent toward us, while they warmly greeted others. It was a clear act of subtle racism, and it made us feel invisible.
We paid the same fare and came for the same experience. This kind of racial bias has no place in London tourism. I hope City Cruises takes this seriously and ensures all staff treat every guest with...
Read moreBest way to see London and eayiest way to get into the centre. Cheaper then the river bus if you show the ticket office a travel card or Oyster card. Takes the same amount if time as the river bus. Double decker boats, open top desk. Coffee and food, snacks and bar all on the boat and bathrooms. Live or recorded commentary in English but free headphone so you can hear 7 other languages. Friendly staff, amazing views. They also offer special boats for Afternoon tea, Lunch or Dinner cruises also very good. If you want to go to a London attraction you can save money by buying the tickets with City Cruises. Highly recommend this, better then sitting on a DLR...
Read moreI took my friends on this tour hoping to find out historical facts and a good commentary. Instead we got some facts and a volunteer ship mate who loved the sound of his own voice and jokes that were not funny and actually very offensive. There were many children on board and I was cringing that they might understand what he thought was a joke. We went both directions so had to listen to another guys sick jokes on the way back. For 20 quid a ticket you'd expect professionalism. Drinks were very expensive, nearly 18 quid for 3 beers in a can. I'd certainly look at another boat company to take future guests to London on. Total...
