Thames River Sightseeing Greenwich Pier — Attraction in London

After three exhausting days walking every day and managing public transport with scoliosis of the back and arthritis two weeks before my scheduled hip replacement operation, I was extremely thankful that Stephanie saw my exhaustion and walking stick and immediately offered me a chair to sit down under cover from the rain while we waited for the next ferry to Westminster. I have found that everyone I have come across in and around London has been solicitous on public transport and in shops, making our holiday less stressful than anticipated. I'm determined that my osteoarthritis and other issues won't stop us enjoying travelling, and the help and understanding from people like Stephanie have reminded us that there are caring people in the world. Nice trip to Greenwich. It’s one hour from Westminster, but very cool to see the city along the bank from the river. We came back later with the underground. Note about the onboard commentary… We loved the fun tone of the sightseeing guide 👍🏻 but found the whole story about just being the crew and wanting to share voluntarily completely disingenuous. Come on folks, it’s literally sold as a “sightseeing tour”. Your guide map even points out the “hilarious live commentary”. Nobody buys that “I’m just part of the crew” act, and nobody likes to be treated like an idiot. So just pass around your tip jar, but skip the phone story please. We purposely didn’t tip because we found the schpeel pathetic and over the top. All the rest was great. Worthwhile....

The 4 of us had the best experience ever on the London Rose on Saturday 13th May 2023. The skipper albeit not a tour guide as he stated, has got to be the best tour guide we have experienced!! He was very knowledgeable about local sights and the history. He was also real fun and enjoyable to listen to. We hadnt planned on getting on that actual boat, but so glad that we did.
