I wish there was an option for a minus star! This has to be hands down one of the worst food experiences I’ve been unfortunate to have! The waitress looked frazzled, overworked and although sweet was no way equipped to cope with the amount of tables she was serving, the food was beyond bad, with rotten wilted veg served stone cold, not resembling the food described on the menu. “The Kale & Broccoli sautéd in garlic butter” offered as a new dish to their menu, obviously aimed at attracting non meat eaters was so disgusting with Broccoli so poor, almost rotten that it had actually started to seed, was no way sautéed and looked boiled with no flavour, I couldn’t help but feel they had re served a dish left over from the day before, due to the sodden state of the vegetable and the water it was swimming in! Vile! The other offering from Zizi was Fonduta Formaggi described as “a little melting pot of 3 Italian cheeses Gorgonzola Alpine Pecorino, I’m still puzzled as to how anyone who calls themselves a chef can actually believe the dish that was served resembled anything remotely as described on the menu, for your information “chef” a cheese sauce generally has an element of fat when heated which produces a glossy string like effect, the dish Zizi served was like a poor quality bechamel sauce, white pasty and completely flavourless , yuk! With none of the flavour as described on your menu.
The salad served with my skinny pizza was again brown whilted and no way fresh, the tomatoes were icy ❄️.
In essence I could waste more of my time writing about uncleanliness of the toilets, lack of cutlery and condiments on table or indeed offered, but quite frankly they don’t deserve anymore of my time. I felt insulted with the food that was served and had flash backs the next day that actually made me heave. Congratulations on being the winner of the worst of everything, Disgusting, disgraceful! Avoid Avoid Avoid at all costs there are so many much better places in Greenwich to spend your money 💰 This needs to be closed down...
Read moreZizzis has sadly succumbed to the apparently unavoidable fate of most italian chain restaurants. Once fresh and exciting starters have become redundant and lifeless. Everything that should be sweet is sour, everything that should be soft is soggy and everything that should be hot is cold. The chefs must have had dough making tips from the CEO of Boxfactory because the pizzas are akin to cardboard, and slathered in salty, chewy and cold toppings. If you havent chipped your incisors by desert, perhaps some half melted ice cream and soggy lukewarm brownie might tickle your fancy.
The general atmosphere boils down to tinny chart music that sounds like its being played on a Nokia 550, accompanied by the screams and wails of small children. Zizzi could double up as an excellent venue for a 4 year olds birthday party, with the restaurant owner potentially playing a clown.
Zizzi are also very keen to discover your allergy information, as it means they can shove a QR code of their menu in your hand and force you to order your own food via the app. Other establishments take time to make sure nothing harmful gets into your food, Zizzi make it your own problem, even sometimes claiming there are peanuts in garlic bread.
The service is also abysmal, where waiters hover like starving animals waiting for you to take the last bite of your Icelands own brand arranchini, so that they can snatch away your plates and smash that 10% 'OPTIONAL' service charge onto your bill.
All in all this is one of the worst of the big pizza chains you can visit in 2022. There is nothing remotely unique nor desirable about eating at a one of these resturants anymore. Do something nice for friends and family next time you decide to go to...
