We held our wedding reception at the Old Brewery in August 2025. Tommy and the team could not have done enough to make our day perfect. We'd speculatively gone for a pint one evening and happened to recognise Tommy from the Weddings section of the website. Despite us not having an appointment to speak with him, Tommy went out of his way to sit and have a chat with us, and his infectious energy made us very confident that we were in good hands.

We had a few planning meetings in the run-up to the day, and felt very well informed as some plans changed due to an event at the Old Royal Naval College. The team were on top of this though, and with a bit of creativity changed the layout to make it work for us.

The team liaised directly with all of our vendors which meant we didn't need to worry about any setup. On which note... Tommy and the team absolutely went above and beyond with the setup of the various spaces - including our ludicrous request to bring a custom beer pong table! We delivered all of our decorations in boxes a couple of days before the event, and walked in to everything beautifully arranged with exceptional attention to detail. The decorations were arranged to complement the room - a gorgeous space with tall ceilings and plenty of highlights such as the art and the massive brewery tanks.

This continued through the day with the team rearranging the decorations accordingly as the night went on. We didn't give any instructions here - just pure creative vision and we loved it!

The food was incredible - great reviews all round from our guests - and we were thrilled with the flexibility in making our menu and the number of options available to our guests. All dietary requirements were handled really well including a specific allergy one of our guests has - the team made modifications to the menu to ensure they could offer something just as tasty.

All of the staff throughout the day were a delight to deal with - on hand at any point to assist with the festivities, friendly, and absolutely on it - if there were any issues, we didn't know about them!

For those of you thinking about a pub wedding we really could not rate the Old Brewery high enough - what better pub than one in a UNESCO world heritage site, next to the Cutty Sark, and on the Thames! We couldn't give higher praise to Tommy and the team - thank you again for making our day so special....

It was a complete customer service car crash today. I booked a table for six for Sunday lunch. On arrival we were told we’d booked outside dining (not requested - had assumed everyone dined inside) and were shown a table outside the courtyard Itself with no protection from the wind. The receptionist was matter of fact and devoid of any emotional intelligence telling us several times that the internal restaurant was fully booked. Eventually we were given a table in the courtyard but made to feel that a concession had been made. We had three children with us aged 4, 4 and 6. All hungry. All cold. Food was served promptly. There was one generous slice of lamb per child - but only one generous slice per adult as well? Food was at best passable. It would have been better if we had been inside as it would not have gone cold so quickly. My four year old daughter needed the toilet and would not use the outside toilets as they had automatic flushes which terrified her. My husband was refused entry to the internal toilets with my daughter and eventually after some argument I was reluctantly allowed in. To my astonishment the restaurant was 20% occupied. A member of staff came to our table and we expressed our dissatisfaction. He admitted that they had had a lot of no shows. He could have retrieved the situation at that point with an offer of a table inside and a concessionary coffee or dessert for the kids. But no. The bill was charged in full with the member of staff saying he hoped we would not be put off...

had a horrible experience, have been visiting very often- not because of the poor customer service that I have come across many times by the same staff member(not just to myself but other customers too). The event this time happened at exactly 15.15 on 22 oct; 2 friends had been waiting for me and 2 others to come. The lady working there at the time came and with a VERY poor attitude and appalling customer service came over immediately and told us off and said we MUST ALL order something to sit at the table- fair enough however the attitude was poor and we had a friend that has severe allergies so we must check the menu carefully. She then came 5-10mins later and said if we dont order she is going to "chuck us out"??? the last time I checked manners was FREE! I then asked her what her attitude was about as we were greeting each other etc we dont go to pubs lining our orders from before hence she decided the best way to resolve an issue is walking towards me as she has now raised her voice into screaming. firstly, if i am expected to order in straight away, why do I wait minimum 25 mins for cold food or wrong orders? secondly, who has given the staff the audacity to be so rude? thirdly, I am there almost everyday for atleast a coffee so why am i getting treated as a squatter?(have been going purely for convenience) if my questions are answered i would be glad. Thankyou. Gipsy has now gained many...

We were looking for a venue for our wedding reception which felt down to earth and fun but still beautiful and grand when we stumbled on The Old Brewery. We honestly couldn’t have chosen a better venue! From our very first call, Tommy completely understood us and our vision and exactly how we wanted the evening to feel. His support and communication throughout the process was exceptional (which isn’t always the case with wedding vendors!) and he instantly put us at ease. We weren’t very well versed with planning big events like this so we really appreciated the checklists he would send which helped us to get organised! We had several meetings at the pub to go over food, drinks, and décor, and each time Tommy made us feel like everything was possible. No request was ever too big or too small. He even liaised directly with our suppliers where necessary, which was such a huge help. When we arrived on the day, the venue was beautifully decorated exactly as we had imagined. The food and drinks were fantastic, with so many of our guests commenting on how much they enjoyed them. The entire evening ran seamlessly, all thanks to Tommy and the amazing team at The Old Brewery, who made sure everything was perfect. What makes it even more special is knowing we can return any time for a meal or a drink and relive the memories of the best day of our lives! Thank you The Old Brewery for giving us such a magical experience.

We were lucky enough to hold our wedding reception of ~75 people at the Old Brewery. Right from our initial inquiry to the day itself, the staff at the Old Brewery simply couldn’t have been better - particular shout outs to Dawson, Tommy, Sara and Evelyn who were absolutely fantastic and we genuinely couldn’t have asked for more. They helped with the organisation, liaised with other suppliers (florist, baker etc), set up the stunning dining hall and made sure that everything went right on the day. As a result, we (as well as all of our guests) just had the best time. So for any other couples looking for a reception venue, we can’t recommend enough the Old Brewery. It’s a beautiful space, excellent food/drinks and totally great staff! And if you’re not looking for a wedding reception - go to the Old Brewery anyway! We had lots of friends/family pop in before and after the big day (and so were just regular guest). We lost count of the number of people who went out of their way to comment on just how friendly and helpful the Old Brewery team are. So thoroughly recommend this as a great spot to enjoy some food/drink - make sure you take advantage of it!
