I would honestly leave less if I could. Visited this establishment today for lunch with my parents and husband (who is black whilst we are white.) My husband was stopped by a server called 'Blanca' upon entering the establishment and was questioned multiple times if he was really with our group before being allowed to join us. It was awkward and strange as paying customers. When we said how uncomfortable this felt to management, (named Natalia and Johnny) and how inappropriate the treatment felt, we were scoffed at. We then said we would rather leave than be served despite the chain being a regular family favourite of ours.
We were then told, through risen voices that Blanca, the 17 year old server who just behaved in quite frankly a rather racist fashion from my family's perspective, was crying in the back and it was 'my husband's problem' (??? For being black? As it certainly wasn't how he was dressed) that she questioned if he was with us, multiple times, despite him entering through the door with his arm around my dad?! as though this wasn't derogatory or rude at all.
This was our family Christmas dinner and it was ruined by your staff. Train the 17 year old greeting people better because this was an absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary situation. And train your management better as when we asked if this was to do with skin colour, Natalia, your manager responded with 'its your problem not ours.' That is a complete failure in training. Such a shame, a great chained ruined by awful staff and you had diners that watched the whole thing and apologized to our family on your chain's behalf afterwards when I returned to ask the names of all the staff.
I will be taking this higher and I certainly would like a response from whoever manages Natalia,...
Read moreNestled in a quiet corner of London, just a stone’s throw from the bustling business and shopping centers, the Italian Spaghetti House is a hidden gem that offers a delightful escape from the city's hustle and bustle. This cozy eatery has become a favorite of mine over the past two years, and each visit has only solidified my appreciation for its warm atmosphere and excellent cuisine.
The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the inviting ambiance that makes it perfect for both casual dining and business meals. The staff, led by the charming owner Manuela, creates a friendly environment that instantly puts you at ease. I was pleasantly surprised when our waitress recognized me from my visits last year, a testament to the personal touch they provide.
Now, let’s talk about the food. The highlight of my meal—and a dish I can't recommend enough—is the Penne all’arrabbiata. The penne pasta is always cooked to perfection, and it’s tossed in a homemade arrabbiata sauce that boasts a perfect balance of tomato, red chili, and fresh herbs. It’s a bold yet comforting dish that has quickly become a staple on my visits. Honestly, it’s hard to have enough of it!
Last year, I had the pleasure of dining here twice with clients and friends, and this year, I returned with a co-worker who was equally impressed. Each experience has been consistent in quality and service, making it a reliable choice for both personal and professional gatherings.
If you're in London and looking for an authentic Italian meal in a cozy setting, the Italian Spaghetti House is a must-visit. With its friendly staff and standout dishes, especially the Penne all’arrabbiata, it has earned a special place in my heart—and my palate. I can’t wait for...
Read moreWe came to this place by pure luck (after a bad experience across the street), but it was certainly a highlight of the evening. Even though the restaurant was apparently full, the personnel managed to find a spot for our group of five. I have to say, everybody was really helpful for the whole evening and we certainly felt welcome.
Starting with the antipasti, minestrone was fine (I had better before, but it was pretty tasty nevertheless). As for the main dish, all of us had something different, lasagna, spaghetti al pesto, penne quatro formaggi, and twice spaghetti carbonara... With all of us later arguing that they had, of course the best dish. Definitely ask for bonus parmigiano. Also, do not hesitate and ask for the regular portion, the small one was a bit too small for our liking.
Desert-wise, tiramisu was pretty fantastic.... But the panna cotta! That panna cotta was the tastiest one I have experienced so far, and I am afraid even the most delicious one I will ever experience. Not just me saying that, we all agreed that that was simply the best.
To conclude, I would certainly recommend coming here and giving this...
