West Yorkshire History Centre — Attraction in Wakefield

Visited this centre as part of a tour to learn about what the staff do to preserve and safeguard millions of different archived material. It forms the lead office for smaller units in the five Metropolitan areas that cover West Yorkshire. Go online to view the various types of records held and if they interest you, go along and request a view of them. There is a car park a few minutes walk away st £2.50 for the day. Pre-order the documents as the archivists have to get them from miles and miles of shelving. This is a hidden gem for anyone rearching past history...
