I just picked up my laptop from geek squad and was assured everything was fixed and there were no problems at all which I was very thankful to hear. When I got home I turned on my laptop and it is stuck on the MSI logo and won’t let me log in. I called geek squad and spoke with Justin and he put me through to the tech that worked on my laptop, Frank. Frank told me he didn’t know what it could be and that it perfectly worked with him. He said the only thing I could do was drop it off again. I asked if I could just swing by and drop it off since I just picked it up from geek squad 20 minutes prior to the phone call. He told me I couldn’t and I would have to make another appointment online and that they were double booked today (Sunday) so I would need to schedule and drop off Monday. I work 80 hrs a week so they are closed by the time I get off work.
The geek squad in Dallas cleaned my laptop after repairing it last year and they fixed everything I asked them to fix. At this location, my laptop was not cleaned at all during the time that they had it so they probably didn’t even try to boot it up and test it.
Very unprofessional and...
Read moreAfter being told by the online geek squad agent that the screws I needed for my Chromebook could be replaced in person, I showed up for my appointment at the store to be told that there was nothing that could be done as they don’t keep screws for the machines in stock. I was told “We’d have to take it to the back and sort through the screws to see if we could find a match.” That, sir, is precisely the service that I would have been paying you to do.
When I mentioned that I was told by the online geek squad that I would be able to get the screws replaced so long as I made an in person, he told me that the online chat is a third party contractor reading from a script to try to get me into the store. Well - yes, because presumably this is a service that the store should be capable and willing to do.
Ultimately I wonder if this is a situation where the time spent trying to find replacement screws is more than they can legitimately charge for the relatively small repair, so they just dismissed it off the bat. I would give zero stars if I could, because there was absolutely...
Read moreI took my Dell computer to the Geek Squad because it wasn't booting properly and acting buggy. The Tech who waited on us was Frank. He was VERY knowledgeable and we discussed the problem and possible solutions. I was told it could take a couple of days to resolve the situation. Later this same day I got a call from Frank who said a new hard drive would be needed, it was one of the options we discussed to fix the computer. A couple of days later we picked up the computer. Most of the information was already loaded onto this near hard drive and it took less than a day to load everything else that I commonly use.
We pay Geek Squad a yearly fee for their services. They never fail to go above and beyond to make sure our computers and other electronics stay in top working order. We are so very grateful to Frank for again making our visit with the Geek...
