The Lockview Restaurant — Restaurant in Akron

COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED!!! This happened last night 4/14/23-My boyfriend & I wanted to grab a bite before the theater- this restaurant was very close & the reviews I read were good(I didn't see the others one's until after)...we got there at 6:10pm, got seated towards the back end....& waited, & waited....10minutes go by & another couple was seated at table behind us...still waiting....4 minutes later 2 ladies were seated table in front of us...... finally the waitress came but not to us 1st, she stop at the 1st table took their drink order, then us-our drink order, then the couple behind us... after about another 10min, drinks came..... orders were taken then.....(3 tables, orders taken at same time) .......my boyfriend & I were there 1st....so how is it that the couple behind us & the ladies in front of us were served first???????????.... I found myself making excuses & giving my boyfriend explanations as to why we had no meals yet. WOW! Now the waitress had told us when she took the order, about 25min.....clock watching, it's around 7:07 nothing for us, yet were watching the others tables eat away!

Is this how a restaurant is supposed to run????

We stop the waitress who said she would check on our orders, she would come back w/just about 10 mins! Then, when we looked at the time again & it was 7:26pm.........!!!!!!!.....we had enough & told her to cash us out for the drinks! 7:26pm!!!! .....we still had no food! The ladies in front of us had already cashed out & left! The food arrived while the manager had come out to our table-Are you serious!?!?!?

I ORDERED A GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH/ FRIES AND A CAESAR SALAD!-NO MEAT INVOLVED!..... My boyfriend: a steak grilled cheese of some type! (Longhorn steakhouse doesn't take 1 hour to prepare a steak???)

To add more disappointment: The waitress said she could get us boxes for our food that had not arrived to our table!!! are you serious!?!?!? & we arrived/ordered during happy hour -we were charged FULL-PRICE for the 2 drinks that should have been $5! I even verified the price with the waitress!

?????? still pondering??????Why are the people who came after us served before us- all orders placed at the same time!!!!

Our 1st time here! Wow! & we live far from Akron - I read the food here was supposed to be DELICIOUS! SUCKS! I CAN'T CONFIRM THAT!

PLEASE GET THOUGHTS/ PLANS INTO ACTION & TRY TO DO BETTER FOR THE PATRONS...

Ok... this is the best comfort food, and staff ever. I have been a carry-out only guy since March 2020 due to my own and familial health conditions. I went on last week thinking to go... and as I was wearing my mask and plastic shield and the crowd was light I stayed and ate in under my face shield.

So worth it. The staff's covid protocols are strictly followed--which is the only reason I even thought of staying. Even the menus are electronically available via Scanning a QR code with your smartphone!!!! And the food is amazing. Simply amazing.

I have been going weekly for several years until March... last week was my first time back. It is right next to my office. I have been telecommuting since March and live near Youngstown... so we are just getting back to in person working...

Yes, I am paranoid.

My point, I love this place the food and even the music they play in the background. And no one busted my chops for the face shield.

I have yet to find anything on this menu that isn't amazing. All my friends swear by the bartending here (I am diabetic so... the iced tea is good and the pink packets are plentiful!) I know... there isn't much on this menu I should be having... I save up my exchanges and cheat a little...

But the increase in my serotonin levels is worth it. So very worth it...almost as good as prozac... and that's saying something! I always leave feeling better than when I arrived.

My favorite (and I know it is bad for me!) The deep fried pepperoni... the caprese salad is tasty as well.. pricey but very nice!

When you go... tip these folk, they work hard damnit and...

We were seated promptly, and we got our order in for food and drinks quickly. Food came out in a reasonable timeframe and it was really good! My only complaint would be service, it was great service until the food came, it was like once the food came it wasn’t the server’s problem anymore. We never got a refill on a drink because she never came back, my husband got a beer, if she had came back and asked about refills he probably would have gotten another beer and you would have made another sale. I see this is a common occurrence in other reviews I’m not sure if they are trying to save money by not refilling soda or what the issue is. Our server plus others were just standing at the bar talking not busy. We finished our meals and it came time for the bill, we just sat there waiting for a while when finally a different server came and asked if she could take our dishes, we said yes but we also need the bill she came back with it quickly. We waited a while for our payment to be taken with no sign of our server coming. Luckily we had cash so we ended up just paying in cash leaving it on the table and being able to leave. It was really good food, but I’m not sure if it’s worth coming back if you are a one drink person and can wait a while once your food comes then I would...
