I never write reviews because I own a restaurant and I’m chill. Tonight changed that. Right off the bat, the energy of our bartender was bad, aggressive, and unwarranted. I’m sure all the staff will know who we are because we brought kids because our friends son turned 21 and we wanted to have a space where we could all go as well as food that everyone would enjoy.
I came later and I personally felt like I was treated differently because I was with that table. You cannot change my mind on how this bartender treated us. This is how I make my living and if I had a server/bartender talk to us the way he did throughout the night, tonight would be his last night. He treated us like we were the drunk patrons at 11:30pm at night instead of the 7pm patrons who were celebrating with family. No matter if I was wrong or he was wrong, arguing with me at the bar and telling me he did nothing wrong is unprofessional. He should have stopped immediately and got his manager but instead he wanted to tell me how right he was. I went and asked for the manager in my own. The manager was great because what I needed to say is, he is going to get tipped the same but he needs to learn more finesse and professionalism or he won’t last long in an industry I hold dear to my heart. The food was great, the company was great. Our bartender just about ruined my short lived evening. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Oh, and don’t autograt without letting your customer know. I’m cool with it as long as you vocalize it. My friend had to tell me that you were adding Gratuity to everyone’s ticket. Only one of us knew. My...
Read moreFlattop was not the best experience. The gentleman who had served me and my party was quite callous, as soon as we entered the door. My friends and I were looking forward to shooting a little pool before we had our meal, but unfortunately one of my friends was under 21 so we all couldn't play like we had anticipated. With that being said, when I had gone to order a beer, I was quickly shut down because of the aforementioned underaged friend, stating that we had to be a parent or legal guardian of the person. I can understand maybe if it was a group of young adults who aren't drinking age with one adult who is over 21, but if it is the opposite? The food was quite slow to go from kitchen to table, a trend found in the other reviews, and the food itself wasn't really all that much to write home about. There wasn't anything especially special about the appetizers or pizza we had ordered. The garlic fried were ok, as was the calamari. I, myself, had a small Margherita pizza which was OK. It was nice and warm, nowhere near hot enough to burn your mouth or tongue. My friend was served a soft drink that had no syrup to it, so it just tasted like carbonated water, and when he went to go exchage it for a different soda, the gentleman at the bar said "whats wrong with it, does it taste like weed?" Quite and offhanded comment. It's not the worst, but not really that appealing. I'm quite indifferent about the restaurant, doubtful I would make it a restaurant I'd go...
Read moreWill never ever come to Flattop again, sorry they are obviously discriminating. Me and a group of my friends who are all descendants of other cultures other than “pure caucasian”. The server already had a snappy attitude when ordering our drinks “the purple hair girl”. Once we received our mix drinks, we can tell that there was absolutely no alcohol in any of the 5 drinks we ordered. I put the drink back on the counter and a regular mention he never heard a complaint until now, which I found it very odd that he makes a comment on how the bartender made my drink and it was very aggressive. Next I notice the bartender seemed offended and asked to pay for a double or get out! Our whole table had complained about their drinks, they literally gave us juice but charged us for it! Next the manager comes to the table and mention it’s our last time here and at Humpy’s because every time “You” people come to our establishment it’s always a problem! We tried to be polite and told them we just don’t like our drinks, we will pay but no tip. Manager replied that he will 86 us from there and Humpy’s. Keep in mind none of us Never been kicked out of neither of these places and it was our first time we went to flattop. I found it to be highly absurd to be 86 when we never did anything disturbing or violent or disrespectful. So only thing that came down with this reason is because they were...
