We had an absolutely FANTASTIC experience on our Hike & Float tour today. We started in Skagway at the cruise ship terminal where we were met by Mike - a super nice guy, and we had a great chat with him while we drove to our tour shuttle location. We then met the rest of the group with whom we’d be spending the afternoon. Connor was our driver and hike leader. After beginning our drive to Dyea, Connor shared lots of interesting information with us about the areas of Skagway and Dyea and answered lots of questions from the group. After getting to Dyea (and applying bug spray - warning, lots of mosquitoes), we got underway on our hike. Connor was an excellent guide - SO knowledgeable about everything from the history of the Chilkoot Trail to types of trees and plants. We loved learning lots of new information from him including about watermelon berries (that actually taste like watermelon!). We had such a great time getting to chat and hike with him today. After getting to the end of the section of the trail we were hiking, we met up with our float guide, Owen, and we put on life jackets and traded our shoes for boots (both provided by the Skagway Float Tours team). The float down the Taiya River was wonderful and relaxing - a great way to wrap up the adventure. Owen was an awesome and experienced river guide who handled the raft masterfully. Other members of the team met us at the take out location and helped get all of the gear put away - thanks to Will and Wyatt for that. Afterward, Connor drove us back into Skagway and dropped us off back at our cruise ship. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this group and the tour that they led us on today. Cannot recommend more highly that anyone visiting Skagway book a tour with them, particularly the...
Read moreThis place handles everythng. They pick you up at the cruise port, take you everywhere, and have quality equipment. We had 3 guides for our trip. 2 for the bike, then one for the hike/float. The price was amazing for what you get (booked through the cruise ship). Our guides clay, and another lady whos name i did not get were wonderful stewards of the land, and the culture. Full of information and never a dull moment. These guides know their plants, trees, history, and more.
The hike and float was from the guide “shaggy” and he likewise was an equally amazing guide. His knowledge of forageing, history, medicinal properties, and plant and tree identification were amazing. Very helpful with guiding us over the hill and did not push or make anyone feel tjey were to slow. The bike was a bit over an hour, i dont know how long the hike was but it was a while. The trail is pretty steep up and down, then flattens out. Good shoes are a must, but overall it was not bad. When someone needed a break we took a break. Shaggy seemed to have a nugget of info about everything he also piloted the float raft with skill and equal information of the surounding area. If you call yourself “outdoorsy” this is the tour for you.

Read moreMagnificent organization! I lived in Skagway for the better part of ten summers, and if anyone asked me what to do during a day in town this is unquestionably the tour to experience Legendary guides. Legendary location. Every season brings about it's own unique twist (greening out in the spring, berries, flowers, salmon runs in the summer, foilage and mushrooms in the fall). Not a better way to capture the scenery. Never realizing that there might be 13,000 people crammed back in town. Ice melting from glaciers is what produces the river! Abundance of history in a place now so calm and tranquil. Leave the ship for the morning and take in true Southeast Alaska.
Go! Enjoy! Everyone! Know the Klondike Gold Rush Historic National Park in the coolest...
