Old Town Ice Cream Parlor — Restaurant in Albuquerque

Wonderful establishment. The actual store is a bit cramped and has an awkward layout, but the products and the service are top-notch. They have Blue Bell ice cream, which is personally one of my favorites, and their prices are just a bit lower than their competition a couple doors down. The workers are extremely friendly and helpful, and accommodating when I ask for something a little off the beaten path. There's lots of outdoor seating so that you don't have to eat your ice cream in the cramped, noisy building.

There's a few things I could nitpick here — the air conditioning isn't very good, which leaves the inside of the store hot and humid; the game machine they have in the corner seems to be perpetually broken; the malting powder often doesn't seem to get evenly mixed in the malts, leaving them a little chunky; and the hot chocolate frequently tastes of coffee. However, none of these things are a big deal overall, not enough for me to take any serious issue with, just a few things that could be improved on.

A note on a recent review where the customer said one of the workers cussed at her friend — I witnessed that personally, and he obstructed her and nearly caused her to fall over with a heavy object and hurt herself. Any reasonable person would have been angry. That same worker has been enthusiastically polite and friendly every other time...

honestly pretty terrible and bizarre service. The young lady working didn’t acknowledge Us when we came in and when we asked if she worked there she said something like “yeah let me finish something for school really quick” and continues to type on her laptop. I was so confused and even asked her if everything was okay because she seemed stressed. I regret being so nice to her because she proceeded to have terrible attitude. We asked if it was possible to order a smoothie and she replied with no i closed everything down since we’re about to close. It was 5:40 when they closed at 6. It wasn’t such a problem until she was rude to my grandma. Then I really felt the need to say something. I am a server and understand sometimes work can be hard but either fake a smile or call in because this attitude was ridiculous. She acted like we were on her time. Either way I see a few reviews talking about a young girl and it seems like we all may be talking about the same person. Please train her on customer service or...

Cute place with potential but the young lady working there is incredibly rude. She never greeted us and then she was very bothered that we were ordering ice cream. She spent most of her time chatting with a guy in the back. Then was on her phone laughing, calling the person bro about 10 times and cursing. I waited to get a bottled water for a long time while she stood right in front of me at the register chatting on her phone and then said "ugh, I have to call you back". A lady walked in after me to get ice cream and was also not greeted. In fact the young lady covered the ice cream with lids and then just walked away to the back to chat with some guy and left the customer standing there. She walked out very annoyed and ended up not purchasing anything. I won't ever go back. I realize that it's not easy to find staff these days but the young lady was rude, unprofessional, and worthless. I can't recall ever having such...
