Today I took advantage of a Yelp Elite experience in the Old Town Plaza, at the Flying Roadrunner Bakery, a cozy and charming local bakery with a colorful display of pastries and cakes. I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did!
The staff was very friendly and attentive, greeting me with a warm smile and taking my order promptly. I chose a gourmet chai cream filled croissant and a fresh made chai latte with a light sprinkle of cinnamon. The croissant was flaky and buttery, with a generous amount of creamy filling that had a subtle spice and sweetness. The latte was smooth and frothy, with a perfect balance of tea and milk flavors. It was a heavenly combination that satisfied my taste buds and warmed my soul.
The bakery had a nice ambiance, with a pleasant aroma of baked goods filling the air. The decor was simple but elegant, with wooden tables and chairs, colorful cushions, and some local artwork on the walls. It felt like a home away from home, where I could relax and enjoy my delicious treats.
I highly recommend Flying Roadrunner Bakery to anyone who loves fresh and quality baked goods, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. It's one of the best bakeries in Albuquerque, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their...
Read moreI probably would have given a 3 or 4 star review if I had eaten there but unfortunately I got an item to go which was just a bad experience and I wouldn't recommend it. The store is clean and the pastries are pretty good but a bit over priced; I know everything is too expensive now but I consider $7.50 for a muffin to be a little expensive. Anyway I ordered one to go and the employee wiped off all the topping on the side of the bag as she was preparing it to go. She acknowledged the pastry was just messed up so I'm honestly surprised she even still gave me that one instead of a new one...a good comparison would be imagine you ordered a slice of cake and the restaurant wiped off all the frosting then handed it to you. It's ironic that a place that charges their prices puts their products so carelessly in cheap sandwich bags. Possibly a good spot to have coffee at but definitely not a good spot to get...
Read moreBeware the NINE DOLLAR pistachio croissant! Nothing but lightly dyed green frosting in an excess of soft dough. Here it seems the creations aim to be the BIGGEST as opposed to the tastiest. $32 for two drinks and two pastries is completely exorbitant, it’s my bad for choosing to come to old town though hahah ~ the pear cruffin was alright, but really there’s such an excess of dough and sweetness and it’d be nice if they honed in their flavors to detract from being pure sugar crashes. The drinks were yummy but equally overpriced. Im sure theyve got a hefty rent to pay for their location so I can’t hold it against em, just won’t be returning....
