Checked out Blackstone a few years back while visiting Albuquerque. While I was in the shop I picked up a framed image off the floor. Took a few looks but finally saw a price tag. Around $799-$899 if I recal correctly. While that was too steep for this visit I never forgot the image.
I want to again point out this item is on the floor. Not the sales floor; the actual floor leaning against the wall. The next year my mom was headed to the same area and I asked her to stop in and buy it. All of a sudden, they want over $2,000 for the same item! I move on again.
Flash forward to a week or so ago and the same item appears on eBay. I watch it for a few weeks; figuring out logistics because it’s local pick up only. With a plan in place, I clicked on the make offer portion of the auction and successfully won the item for $866 with tax. Paid immediately.
Warning, shady business practices ahead! Blackstone AKA 111oldschool sent a message saying they didn’t know how I won the auction. Refunded my winning bid; offered to relist it if I would buy it now at $1,900! EXTORTION much? Don’t post one star reviews often; more...
Read moreCool items in the store and great choice of pottery; however, the lady checking out is extremely slow and takes way too long. I waited 30 min to check out with one couple in front of me. I had 10 min to check out to make a meeting which I told her. Half way through she forgot what numbers she had typed in and had to start over wasting another 3 min. Due to time I wrapped the pottery cause she would have taken 10 min to do this. I wrapped it pretty good but one of my pots broke when I set the bag down. Set it down. It was still wrapped as well. When I went back To the store she said she needed to wrap it and it needed tape so it didn't break! Okay! She said I was too rushy! Well when it takes 30 min yes. I am usually a patient person but not waiting that long. If I would have known this I would have left the shop. Please find better help that knows how to work a...
Read moreI love the previous reviews, because I met the previous owner (Kim's) daughter, Jenn, who now runs the store. And... I seriously had to rip myself away from her. I could have spent hours in this store! Kindness runs through this family business; and I love that local creatives and artisans have such an incredible place to partner and elevate their work to customers. You...
