Reposting with an update. On Monday the ball of my daith piercing broke off. I did go in and was first helped by Molly. I tried to explain it was the original piercing and they had to clamp it in with pliers, it was not a click hoop. She did not listen and suggested a thin hoop. She would not tell me the kind of metal in it, only that all their jewelry was hypoallergenic, and kept insisting I could replace it on my own even though I told her they used clamped it in at my original piercer. She then told me that if they did it, itād be another 40+.
So I tried, couldnāt get it, and obviously I needed to walk back in.
Another piercer took over, he did not say his name, and he needed to use actual tools to replace it which was painful. Unfortunately the new hoop was still the thin, unspecified metal one which he also reassured would be ok. I should have went with my gut feeling then, but I thought these two were trained professionals.
Over the next two days, my year old piercing started bleeding, developed a keloid, and got infected. The cheek around it went numb too.
I went in on Wednesday, and this time Joey took over. He said that it wasnāt an allergic reaction, and agreed to go back to a titanium hoop. Halfway in he decided right in the middle of the process to switch to a large bar that did not fit. I didnāt have time to ask about it since the whole process was painful, again, and he did not ask only said he was going to use a bar instead. Because of this I didnāt catch it in time, and only after installing did he say that this would help heal it. And it was a better option overall. This was also followed with a sales pitch of a āfree upgradeā for the metal, and that this wouldnāt be charged on me again.
The issue is that again, with another careless decision from this team, I now have a piercing that is too big and is blocking my ear canal. I canāt properly clean it. Moving my neck, causes the whole thing to shift because itās stuck inside my ear canal. Because itās double the size of my original piercing. Because Joey did all of this without properly consulting or sizing.
Edit: same as before, very obvious they there avoidance here and an unwillingness to actually read the whole review and see what the problem really was. This piercing was healed. It had no problems. They messed up on Monday, caused damage, and then continued to make poor corrections when I went back. Iām pretty sure a piercing is not supposed to get stuck in an ear canal when done properly, lol.

Final update: oh boy, it got even better in a horrible way. So had to leave work early due to the pain. Couldnāt smile or talk or even move my neck without the bar being tugged. I went to three different shops to assess the damage. Two were both consultations because they didnāt have a replacement hoop in stock. The final person did.
All three agreed that curved bar in a daith is a stupid idea. All three agreed the bar was too large also; but a smaller would have gotten lost in all the swelling and inflammation this place caused.
And the biggest cause of the inflammation? Shitty piercings, it was a cheap bar they placed in.
All sites quoted me at about 40-65 before a tip. The third site even helped showed me the kind of knock-off piercings that are basically nickel plated with better materials Monster Den is trying to sell as premium. They didnāt sell me a piercing and then tell me itās be an extra 40 for installing. They didnāt change the plan halfway through without consulting. The person who did fix this managed to do everything almost pain free compared to the pain Joey caused when installing the curved bar.
The relief was immediate. No more pulling on the site, no more sharp stings, and the ache is fading out. Iām hoping monster den didnāt ruin a years worth of healing, and so as a caution donāt depend on these people to be honest, careful, or capable.
Specifically to these two sites, Cleopatra piercings in Costa Mesa and Rainbow piercings in Newport, thank you so much for doing an excellent job. Monster...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would rate a 0 but I canāt do that soā¦.they are scammers or this one guy at least who pierced me.
I came into the store almost last year and came in to get four piercings. I figured this place was trustworthy because of the good reviews. They told me the prices and it was all around 60-70 dollar max. That sounded very normal so I agreed with all. I was then placed into this room waiting for them to prepare my piercings and as I was getting it pierced I realized my piercer was using the same needle and also using a cork. He couldnāt even put the needle all the way in and struggled with my rook piercing. My ears bled heavily and started to puss badly so he just gave me napkin. I ignored these signs because I was just really excited to get my piercing. I went up to pay and it came up to me around 370 dollarsā¦. That didnāt seem right but since he was almost rushing me I put my card in anyway. There was a tip slide and I accidentally clicked .80 cents and he looked at me and said āreally?!?? 80 cents?!?!ā I was uncomfortable at this point and told him it was on accident and he went back for me and told me to tip him. So I did, and this was my fault for tipping him 20 dollars but that was the cheapest option they had on there. I shouldāve done custom like before but I was the only person in that room so I just wanted to head out at this point. So in all I paid almost 400 dollars for four piercingsā¦. His coworkers then came out of their rooms and told me to leave them GOOD reviews and that they would really appreciate it. I felt bad since the coworkers seemed nice so I never left a review till almost a year later. It took so long because Iām still bothered by the way they treated me and my piercings still hasnāt healed till this day and itās been so irritated even when cleaning it everyday. I guess from the same needle they pierced most of my...
