This place is a disgusting, seedy motel. As a regular of the Candy Cane Inn, this place one block down, is no comparison. It's embarrassing. It looks like a bad apartment complex in the middle of a ghetto neighborhood. The grounds are unkempt, with weeds and dead grass. The rooms are dated. It looks like a shady landlord did all the paintwork and grout. It's 2025, and how are there still rooms that look like they are from the 80s? The parking is a scam. There was no staff at the front desk upon arrival. Not even the nice hotels on Harbor Blvd. have a gate system to get in/out of the parking lot. And unless you hear and remember the front desk associate say to use your room key at the turnstile, you will be charged $12 to get out each time. I had to argue with the front desk and beg for a refund because I had already paid $25 for parking. There is no sign on the parking kiosk that says to use your room key. I feel like the missing sign is on purpose so you will be forced to use your credit card. All the money they price gouge through the parking turnstiles could be used to update the rooms. They are in desperate need. They are dungeon-like. You walk on dark brown carpet, and there are particles and crumbs on your feet. There are zero hooks to hang a bath towel on. There is nothing clean-feeling or relaxing about staying here. It looks like a place where people go to do drugs or have a one-night stand. It's deplorable. This is a $50 room that I paid $174 for. As you can imagine, I feel taken. I have stayed at 4 different hotels on Harbor Blvd., and this one has no clue what their competitors offer. And $50 for a security deposit? Tells you what the clientele are like. What hotel charges for a security deposit in 2025? This hotel is loud. They put us right outside the elevators and stairs. The cleaning staff in the morning are purposefully loud, shouting and talking. Went down to get a coffee, and the spread offered was unacceptable. The entire room and all tables and chairs were full of people. The breakfast room is cold and unwelcoming. They had some stale-looking tiny biscuits, grey, unappetizing sausage patties, nasty hard-boiled eggs, and plain white bread in what is supposed to be a pastry case. Again, go stay at Candy Cane. There you get a beautiful spread: fresh pastries of all kinds, hot breakfast sandwiches, hot and cold cereals, and fresh sliced fruit. This place is just here to make a fast buck and rip you off. They don't understand what comfort and hospitality is. Spend the extra $100 and stay at the Candy Cane. There they have considerate, welcoming staff, updated, immaculate rooms and grounds, free parking, a free trolley to Disneyland, an impressive free breakfast,...
Read moreSo I want to make this short but that will be hard. We knew we weren’t booking a 5 star hotel. We have 4 kids and just wanted a clean comfortable place to sleep in between Disney Days. Well from the moment we checked in our room smelt like mildew so bad! Even our clothes were getting a musty smell after being in there. We left the door open as much as possible.
I let them know right away. They had no other rooms available. The poor man working the front was ALL alone on site most nights and wouldn’t even be at the front desk because he had no help and was out delivering pillows and blankets and taking complaints. He agreed that our room smelt and said “that happens sometimes” I’m sorry, what!? BTW myself and my asthmatic son are both allergic to mold and had to use our inhalers all weekend as well as take Benadryl. I continued to mention the smell every day among other complaints that were more tolerable like no light or lamp in the second bedroom with the bunks or the broken window coming off it’s tracks. I also requested the room be cleaned and maid services never once came from Friday-Monday. Once I found the source of the mold(black mold) I insisted they clean it and replace the filter in the ac unit. Never happened. The night audit man would agree with everything I said but do nothing about it. I was told to talk to the manager the next morning but then when I went to the front office (because you can’t call, they won’t answer) I found she had not come in for her shift. So again no solution. At checkout they agreed to refund the resort fee for each day but said they couldn’t do more since we used an outside booking company. So the person upfront let me know to call them and let them know of all the issues, they can request a refund and Cortona would then approve it. I was able to get one night refunded but I truly think we shouldn’t have to pay for our stay. I would have switched hotels if there was anything in the vicinity that had room but not one did! My son and I are still suffering with some nose issues due to the mold. So in other words this place is gross, don’t stay there, the resort fee is bs and the breakfast is mediocre. They are so understaffed it’s ridiculous. See attached photos to see the mold. Both units had mold. Never ONCE did they come to at least clean it. Oh and I have reported the hotel to the health...
Read moreDuring my stay there was work done on the plumbing. I booked about a month or so in advance. By the time I booked, the management knew they were fixing the plumbing on the day I would be there but decided not to tell me until the week of my trip and only told me of the water being shut off for one day. I was there for three days and of those three days, two days the water was shut off from 9AM-6PM. The water in my sink came out black the first day of plumbing after I returned in the nighttime with my small children. When brought to the staffs attention, the best they could do for me was a free late check out or another room. I was unable to move rooms bc moving all my belongings and two small children at 11pm would further change the entire scheduling of our trip as they would wake up and be up all night. I felt terrible for the staff who was left to deal with the fall out of extremely poor and greedy management. The GM was the only one allowed to make accommodations in terms of refunds and only made themselves available for a short window of time during the day when most people would be gone. The water coming out of the sink smelled like rotten eggs and came out black for 5 min of running it. I understand that plumbing is necessary to keep the place running but NO ONE should’ve been charged full price. They wouldn’t even give free parking considering the issues going on. Do not book with them. If you’re going to Disneyland, book ANY other hotel near. They share a space with another hotel, use that one instead. The free breakfast and proximity to the park was what drew us in but everything that made it seem good was ruined by the greed of the management. The breakfast was equal to hospital food and the walk to Disneyland is like 20min. It’s essentially a motel 6 with free breakfast. I want to reiterate that the staff itself were great and kind, it’s the general management that...
