I first went here for my birthday last year, and my friends and I dined in. Even then, the service wasn't that bad and I even defended it to my friends when they were saying it was bad. Imagine my surprise when they just canceled my pick-up order that I clearly placed an hour before they were closed on doordash, and it was meant to be ready for 8:50 PM, so I went to the pick up door around that time ready and excited for my sushi roll but nobody even came to ask about my pick up or the other 6 people that were waiting. I was the first one, yet I was the last one still waiting at 9:15. Everyone got their orders, and even the one that placed it after me (I talked to them) got theirs. So one of the worker came and said "I don't have your order" even after he asked me about it 2 times. So I said why, and the reason was absolutely crazy: sushi station was closed . . . THE SAME SUSHI STATION THAT I LITERALLY JUST SAW MAKING AND SENDING OUT SUSHI FOR THE ENTIREEEE TIME I WAS THERE??? i literally saw the worker send my order receipt to the sushi station, and yet nothing. . . talk about a joke and a clown. the staff are mean, especially the managers or those who seems to be in charge. absolutely ridiculous and I will never ever order from here again. You know if they had told me earlier around 9 that they couldn't get to my order or something, I understand but to make me wait till 9:20 to just tell me something? I wasted an hour of my day, which I wouldn't normally react like this but with my exam coming up this thursday, it was crucial time. whoever still goes here to eat and dine is just putting themselves through torture honestly, oh yeah last time i ordered pick up as well, they were always late and no help from doordash...
Read moreNot bad. Mama Satto's bills itself as a sushi and noodle restaurant. I don't eat much sushi, so I can't speak to the quality of that. I did order a half-size udon as a side and I thought it was good, and consistent in flavor with udon I'd had that was made by Japanese chefs. The main dish I ordered was Tonkatsu, which literally means "pork cutlet". So I was surprised when the waitress asked if I wanted "chicken or pork". Tonkatsu is pork by definition. In addition, the sauce that the Tonkatsu came with was strange. It had some similarities to the katsu sauce that traditional Japanese restaurants serve, but it seemed to have been blended with something creamy, and maybe a bit of mustard? It wasn't what I had come to expect, and I didn't like it as much as traditional katsu sauce. But it was ok.I would say this place isn't the best place to go if you're looking for authentic Japanese flavors in non-sushi entrees. Again though, I can't speak to the sushi, and the noodles are good. They also had some Korean dishes on their menu, which potentially may be more authentic Korean than their Japanese dishes are Japanese. The portion I received was large, and the food was hot and fresh. The dining room is small, but comfortable. Overall, not bad. Just not the experience I was...
Read moreI am an Uber driver that also does catering and I am serve safe certified just to start. I went to pick up an order for a customer and a gentleman and back that was preparing raw pork walked up ask the name and proceeded to grab my customer's bag with his gloves that were covered in raw pork juice. I told the employee no, You shouldn't be touching that and he said Yes this is the order. I told him he needed to have somebody remake it because it was cross-contaminated and he refused he kept saying no. Apparently he did not speak English. Another person came rebagged the order and then proceeded to go back and do his job. So now since he handled the bag that contained raw pork everything he touched after that was cross-contaminated with bacteria since he did not wash his hands. Seeing as this is a sushi restaurant that serves raw food I would be very very extremely concerned about eating at this establishment. When I informed my customer he called Uber and requested a refund and did not even eat his food and I do not blame him one bit. If employees are not trained proper food safety and do not know to properly wash their hands after handling raw meat I would avoid this place like the plague, before you get...
