If you need a late night after a show meal, this is the place to go. They serve bar food typical for this area in the bar area, which stays open later than other eateries in the area. They have a restaurant upstairs with a full menu. I have only eaten in the bar following shows at the Ramshead and the food is good. Steamed shrimp with onions and seasoned with Old Bay is one of my favorites. Somehow they get the seasoning into that shrimp in just the right amount, leading to a very delectable dish of shrimp. Their crabcakes are good and their bugers awesome. They win on the food. They have a full bar with decent bartenders who my friends and have found lack a little innovation and imagination when it comes to anything beyond basic mixed drinks. I always ask bartenders their favorite drink to make on or off the menu. One Dock Street bartender told me beer. He was a jokester but could not come up with anything beyond that and another said vodka cranberry. We asked for a couple drinks we liked and were told they lacked the ingredients. The most adventurous drink that night was a Long Island Iced Tea that was pretty tasty and not just a ton of alcohol. On another outing, one bartender did make us really good crushes and another good Manhattans. On yet another occasion an obviously more experienced bartender did make up a concoction just for us and it was good....though none of us knew what was in it.....one of those drinks you will only want once. Right at the waterfront in downtown Annapolis, this is a nice late night bar. You have to step outside for the view. It is a small space and it gets very crowded. I have never felt uncomfortable there and staff and patrons alike have always...
Read moreHORRIBLE. Went to this bar last Saturday night with a bachelorette party. Very small space, very crowded and people were plastered. Expected on a Saturday night. The bride ordered a sprite and vodka, after she got her drink she realized the bar tender made it with club soda, not sprite. She tried to get this bartenders attention again for a splash of sprite on the top of a drink that was made incorrectly (should’ve gotten an entirely new drink). However she was ignored. The bride at her own bachelorette party couldn’t enjoy her drink because it wasn’t what she ordered. So, trying to improve it a little I made my way back up to the bar. Bartender was busy, yes it’s expected. However, when a customer says excuse me 4 times and makes eye contact with the bartender you would think something would be said such as “I’ll be with you in one moment” or a quick “one minute” would’ve been enough but this bartender completely ignored a customer. On top of that, tended to customers that came up after I had. After four times of politely saying excuse me, I was done. When I got an attitude he yelled for the bouncer and kicked our group out. Turns out he was the GENERAL MANAGER. It’s not smart to have an impolite, unhappy, general manager serving your customers if he can’t handle a busy night. That is all. Will not...
Read moreVery disappointed…. Went there with six people tonight. Two people were from out of town. We wanted to get them some Good Annapolis MD crab cakes. The restaurant was a little over half full Inside and no one at the tables Outside. We asked both the bar tender and the “General Manager” if we could just move two chairs over to the table we had selected outside and place them on each end of the table. Again no one was Sitting outside at all. We were rudely told no absolutely not. No reason was given just no. All that was said was “ “You can split your party up and sit 2 and 4 or 3 and 3 at the outside tables.” No option to sit together. We decided to just leave and went to McGarveys. We spent $600 and I left a tip of $120. I’m sure the owner would not have wanted to rudely treat customers like that with no regard for the guests or the bottom line of the restaurant.
To the owner…. Your employees are rude and literally chasing business away. I was in the restaurant business for over 20 years and owned.3 restaurants together at our high point. These two employees could care less about your business or bottom line. Just thought you would like to know.
Probably won’t ever be back…. Good luck… you...
