Seven of us dined here on July 19, 2025 and really enjoyed ourselves. We had 2 small, picky children, 2 uber picky teens, and 3 adults in our party. Because there were so many of us, we made a reservation online earlier that day just to be sure. We were seated immediately even though the place was packed so that was nice. There was something on the menu that appealed to everyone, the cocktails were great, appetizers were super cool (we got the fried Mac and cheese balls and the lobster and avocado tray which was very refreshing), and the food was very reasonably priced for the portions and quality. The food comes out quickly and piping hot. The staff was attentive removing empty plates and things from the table and ensuring we had what we needed without hovering over us. Our server Rosemary was so sweet, this lady was like a warm hug. She made great menu recommendations and was so kind to everyone. We ordered items across the board from the crab cake sandwich, fish and chips, scallops, a burger, steak and cheese, and kids items. The Smith Island cake was uhhhhh-mazing and the salted caramel gelato that accompanied the cake was unreal—they need to market this for mass sale because we would keep a bunch of it in the freezer. The only drawback is that it was a bit warm and humid in the restaurant but it was a very warm and humid day (there was a downpour while we were eating). Parking is fairly convenient with a parking garage within walking distance. I wouldn’t expect to park on the street near the restaurant though. We will definitely dine here again because it’s challenging to find a restaurant that appeals to everyone, doesn’t break the bank, has quality food, and great service. This one is a...
Read moreThe food was not good for the amount of money spent and the atmosphere of the place was nice when we first walked in. Now, I don't write many reviews but the feeling of how my sister and I were treated has not left me. I hadn't been in out there for some time now and my younger sister is visiting. We order our food thinking we would be seated but our order was placed to go which was OK. Could have been a mistake. However, we noticed the people in front of us were able to sit inside and then the people who ordered after us were asked whether they were dining in or ordering take out. I ask the girl at the register if we were able to sit inside and she gave me an off look and said no it's for full service and if we needed a place to eat there were table outside in the back area we could eat. I quickly said that's fine because I had to run to the restroom. When getting back my sister let's me know that the people behind us changed their minds and asked if they could sit inside and she without hesitation said of course. So I asked again if we were able to dine in and she said no it's for full service. Well, I asked why not and what was full service and she said you'd get a waiter and stuff. So I let her know it was fine and if we could get that. With hesitation she said ok I'll change your order. My sister is visiting and no longer felt comfortable eating inside and neither did I. The $70 I spent on the food including tip for that kind of treatment was not worth it. I have never felt so disgusted and mistreated in THAT way ever. I feel awful for even putting my sister in a situation to feel that way...
Read moreMarket House enjoys a prime location in downtown Annapolis, offering a clean, industrial vibe and a lively, modern atmosphere. It’s clearly designed to appeal to the tourist crowd—with an attractive setting and friendly, efficient service—but the food, unfortunately, doesn’t live up to the promise.
The lobster roll was a letdown. Served cold with a bland, creamy dressing, it lacked the warm, buttery richness typically associated with a great lobster roll. The addition of lettuce felt misplaced, diluting the texture. While the portion of lobster was generous and the bun decently toasted, the overall flavor and execution fell flat.
The crab cake entrée was similarly underwhelming. Though visually appealing with large chunks of crab, the cake lacked cohesion and fell apart with each bite. The crab itself wasn’t sweet or delicate, and the texture missed the mark—neither tender nor flaky. Most notably, it lacked seasoning, which was surprising for a Maryland crab cake and left it without the bold, briny flavor you’d expect from a regional staple.
On a brighter note, the hand-cut fries were crisp, salty, and satisfying—easily the best part of the meal. Service throughout was friendly and prompt, helping to keep the experience efficient, even if not especially memorable.
In the end, Market House feels more like a trendy pit stop for tourists than a destination for standout Mid-Atlantic seafood. If you’re a local or a food lover looking for authenticity and flavor, you’ll likely walk away disappointed. It’s fine for a casual drink or a quick bite, but not for a memorable...
