This is my first review, as I normally don't feel very strongly (positively or negatively) to write a review. I am writing about Osheen because I was genuinely floored by my experience there yesterday. I will comment on the following:
Designs/collection – Within first five minutes of walking into the store, I had made my first purchase. It did not take long for me to fall in love with the quality and variety of their collection, nor did it take long to find exactly what I was looking for. The store owners, did not try to sell me anything. In fact, they wanted to make sure that I was getting what I wanted. They respected my no's and worked with me to find a dress that I felt absolutely no compromise on. Raja and Sonia, go above and beyond to find you your dream dress. If they don't have it, they will design it and custom order it for you.
Price – When I wore the lengha, I felt absolutely beautiful it in. Though my heart knew that the price would likely be too high and I braced myself for a small heart-break. The price was half of what I had expected it to be. Don't get me wrong, it's not always about the money, but when you have many other expenses in current economy, and are trying to build a life for yourself and your family, every little saving counts. Trust me, we went to four other stores in Artesia that day, and have been to many others before in the area, but the price range with the quality at Osheen is unmatched in the area.
Customer Service - The owners, Raja and Sonia, are not only good businessman/businesswoman as they should be, but they are genuinely wonderful human beings. When I say good buisnessman/businesswoman, I talk about their ethics, their willingness to work with the customer, and their trust in the own products. There was a vest my partner had liked. Up front they said, we cannot sell you this because there is a stain on the vest. Honestly, had I or my partner picked up the jacket at any other store, we would not have even noticed the stain unless it was pointed out to us. We had already bought my partner's kurta from another store, but instead of trying to sell us another kurta, they worked with us to figure out a matching vest. Their honesty and ethics make their business genuine. In the time when we were at the store, there were many customers coming in and out, but I promise you that they made it a point to provide every customer the attention they deserve. They are kind, they are courteous, and they are respectful. They also make efforts to give back to the community and make everyone a part of their family...this is not something the owners told us, but rather something we gathered from a conversation with another individual at the store. They celebrate the desi community, they give back to their desi community.
Humility - Nowadays, many businesses ask for a review before you even had a chance to finish paying. To my surprise, they never asked any of their customers to leave a review or tag them on social media with their products. I genuinely appreciate that as I feel that reviews should come from your hearts, not because your are pressured or asked to. This is why I felt compelled to write this review for Osheen.
I will 100% be re-visiting Osheen, not only because I loved their collection, but because they are genuine people who work with their customers to find their dream outfits, who don't compromise on their ethics to sell their customers subpar products, and who are humble loving people who give back to their community. I urge you to at least give Osheen a chance if you are...
Read moreI normally do not post reviews. However, my experience with Osheen the Designer Studios from beginning to end was beyond exceptional- a review is warranted.
After a slew of strike outs looking for a last minute lehenga for my best friends wedding, due to an online order gone wrong...the hunt was on and so was the pressure. I was having absolutely no luck, and I so happened to come across an associate for Osheen passing out business cards (whom was a sweetheart by the way) and she subtly asked for me to stop by if I had a chance. At this point, I had nothing to lose. So...I stopped by. I was unsure at first, because it was a further trek down and a little gem hidden in a plaza. I was immediately greeted by Sonia's warm smile, whom made me feel so welcomed given how busy and in the midst of assisting a couple other clients. I informed her the occassion I was shopping for and my situation. Looking at their selection of garments, they were one of a kind and nothing I had seen at the other shops. I was taken aback. Sonia asked all the right questions and made me feel safe and comfortable- I immediately knew I was in the right place. The first lehenga I tried on was a winner...when you know, you know. I now, know that feeling. Given I had drove out a couple hours from Ventura and needed the garment same day, Sonia was not only understanding, but accommodating with offering same day alterations. The pricing was reasonable- given the quick turn around. I picked up the lehenga within a couple of hours and another associate carefully walked the garment to my car.
Needless to say, I never at one point felt pressured to purchase something I not only felt comfortable in, but loved. These garments are art and I appreciate the culture behind the art. The passion, kindness, attention to detail and attentiveness to their clients (not only to myself) was one of a kind from Sonia and Osheen the Designer Studio staff. I will recommend them over and over again. Thank you, Sonia and your staff from the bottom of my heart. I cannot wait to wear the lehenga to my best friends wedding with...
Read moreVery disappointing experience at Osheen. I strongly advise others to be cautious before shopping here.
The store is not transparent about their charges. I picked out an outfit and was told they didn’t have my size (S), but that they could “order it for me.” At no point did they mention this would involve a special order fee or delivery charge. Later, they quietly added the extra fee to the invoice without informing me. When I questioned it, the couple running the store denied it and claimed the charge was for a different product — a product I had clearly said I didn’t want earlier. It was dishonest and felt like a trick to pressure me into buying more.
Even their child, who was helping in the store, seemed embarrassed and stayed quiet once it became obvious we had caught them. Yet the parents kept arguing instead of taking responsibility. Honestly, it’s not just bad business practice — it’s a bad example for their child.
Another thing: when I entered the store, they quoted prices for each item and told me, “Don’t worry, I’ll give you a discount at the end.” But when I looked at the final invoice, the prices were exactly the same — no discount at all. It felt like a fake promise just to keep me buying.
Also, the quality of the clothing was poor. I wore the outfit at home before my friend’s wedding, and several beads and sequins had already fallen off before I even left the house.
To top it all off, right after we paid, they tried to smooth things over by giving us free bangles and water, saying “Please leave us a good review on Google.” It felt manipulative.
In short: dishonest practices, poor communication, low product quality, and fake discounts. I will not be returning, and I hope others can avoid the same...
