Love this beach! I come all the way from SI just to enjoy their beach and boardwalk. You can use viply app on your phone to buy tickets they don't let you buy it at booth because they don’t accept cash. Passes are like 10 bucks a person on weekday and 12 and under is free. You scan the tickets and get wristbands to enter beach. You can rent beach equipment and they set up chairs and umbrella or you can bring your own but be careful here as winds pickup and umbrellas go flying. This beach is fairly clean and well kept, the water is safe and the lifeguards are always near the crowds especially with high tides and waves I saw they regulated that very seriously until 5 pm. The boardwalk itself is really nice I love their food stands from tacos pizzas and fried oreos or fries to the nice waterfront restaurants with live music and cocktails ( pops garage , iron whale and lagosta are all beautiful). I love their cute shops with beach gear, fashion boutiques and coffee. The silverball arcade with pizza parlor is amazing, you pay a fee for wristband and play old school games like skeeball pinball machines and nintendo/atari games and their thin crust pizzas are to die for, perfect crisp and sauce! The mini golf across the arcade is so much fun, you play 18 holes with up to four players and they are challenging! The bathrooms here are also fairly clean with a little section for makeup and mirrors. I also found really cool art at the end of the boardwalk where they once had music shows , it definitely has potential to be something greater for the future. In terms of parking you are better off not using the lot because it can be at least 30-40 dollars a day, also be careful parking on sidestreets because some people have permits to park in spots. I highly recommend people come here in the early morning to land a spot by the water as this beach has over 6,000 tickets being sold so you can imagine how many...
Read moreVisited Asbury midweek Wednesday morning, at 9:30am you will find plenty of parking close to the entrance. Just make sure you feed the meter. (Price isn't bad; it provides the time your meter expires on the receipt so calculate your visit) I went for 3 hours and had the beach to myself with very few people. They follow protocol so bring your mask! People typically follow the 6ft ft distancing. The beach was clean, plenty of life guards. They were definitely attentive that day since the waves felt aggressive and there were some deep pockets. They made sure we maintained to the left of the beach for our safety. That made me feel safe. As for purchasing the entrance tickets, they advise to purchase before hand but if you don't have the app they recommend on your cell there's a trailer that sells them on 4th ave on the Broadway. It's right next to the bathrooms, it's red and white. Go early to find parking and tickets, afterwards you may not find neither. The restaurants were open and they even sell beach artifacts in the stations. Just in case you need a change of clothes or footwear. Next time hopefully all the other museums and the movie theater will reopen after covid-19 is settled down some. In all had a very good...
Read moreI visited this beach for the first time last weekend and my family and I had a great time! Originally I went to Point Pleasant beach and was essentially turned away because my cooler was larger than 24inches (apparently there is a law that prohibits large coolers...at the beach...ok)- we had never heard of this and because my group was so large we had to find an alternative beach, called and luckily Asbury Beach is not included in the list of beaches with that silly rule. Upon arrival you must have a credit card to purchase your daily pass for $9/per person THEN take the ticket the the person at the booth who provides you a wrist band to enter the beach. I wish there were clear instructions or signs or someone there to direct the people because I spent 15 minutes in the booth line (along with SEVERAL people) just to arrive and be directed to the machine... all in all it took 30 minutes to enter the beach because there simply was no organization or direction. The beach itself was lovely although there seemed to be an infestation of jellyfish LUCKILY they are "moon jellys" and do not sting. I would recommend this beach!! We got there super early and got beach parking for over 7 hours for about...
