Went here one night with the family. It really wasn't that great.
The location isn't terrific and is very small and cramped. You will be walking over people the whole time when you are shopping or eating. Also there's not enough room to eat, so you will stand and eat at this event. The food is very expensive as well. Around $12 for a brat is ok, but wasn't the greatness. When you come to a 'Christmas German-themed' market you are anticipating an awesome brat. Weird that they couldn't deliver that, and yet they call themselves the 'Atlanta Christkindl Market'. You couldn't drink the Gluehwein, it wasn't authentic and not the real thing. Again if this was just a basic Christmas market that would be alright. But this is the market in Atlanta for Christmas and the Gluehwein sucked. I couldn't believe it. Also I noticed after mingling outside my group I came with that many other people didn't like it. It felt like something was added to it that shouldn't be in there.
The market structures are cool, they are all German homes. However the vendors made no since. Such as leather jackets with Pokemon on it going for $300.00, or a whole store that sells just Tupperware, or better yet the shop that just sold fedora hats for $200. Like what? The only vendor that makes since is the official store of the market that has several cool pieces that look like they could be from Germany. You could find a Christmas gift here at this store for someone. But small ornaments here we're going for $50 - $60, expensive. Some coo-coo clocks were well over priced. I saw once listed for $700! I actually ended up taking a photo of it and posted it on my Instagram story and @ATL_Scoop (a known local page with almost 1 million followers) reposted it on there page.
In conclusion this is a another event ripping off the good people of Atlanta.
Don't go here, there are other local vendors that you can support that throw Winter-Themed Markets. Such as Cryptid Creatives, SUDNAT, Atlanta Mushroom Market / Festival, Sunday Funday, Argosy, etc.
Also if your looking for a German themed event try Fruhlings Fest in Avondale Estates (10 mins outside Atlanta). They have over 100 vendors with Brats and music and it's in a German-themed town, like the whole town.
Also if your looking for good brats for to Bernard's in Symrna.
Again many other options in the city with better locations, food, vendors, and German and Christmas...
Read moreTook my mother & niece visiting from WI here (along w/my 2 kids ages 16/12) for a little Christmas experience. Cute little idea, but not enough true German unique market booths & just not enough quality things to hold their interest. We parked in the South Garage which was easy & just a bit of a walk to the location. The Crepes, Chimney Cakes, Hot Mulled Apple Cider were the best part, but truly not worth the drive from where we were all the way to Buckhead. 12 yr old son: 5 star review because he got to eat the food he wanted (Chimney Cake & Original Pretzel w/Beer Cheese Dip). 16 yr old daughter isn’t into food too much so the little vendors were what she was hoping to enjoy & really didn’t. I was hoping for more photo opportunities, Christmas decorations, live music, vendors that had unique German or international flair & more trial foods from around the world. It would’ve been cuter to have some live music in corners for kids to experience or performers walking around in costume. My mother is 78, is an easy-going adventurer, but it just wasn’t worth our travel to experience it! I would recommend this market more for local people looking to take a walk to this area w/their pet or friends to just meet up quick in an area to have a drink or unique little bite of food & get in w/their night plans. It’s a 20-30 min...
Read moreWe visited the Christmas market in Buckhead Village for the second time today. The first time it was so crowded we couldn’t walk or even get anything to eat, only had hot chocolate which was terrible. It tasted like sugary water. Today, being a Monday, it was less crowded, so I was able to try everything I wanted from the food vendors. The Raclette grilled cheese was overpriced, with very little filling for $17. I also ordered Dutch mini pancakes, but the staff was disorganized. The woman who took my order ignored me while she served others, and I had to remind her, even paying extra when I did so. No apology was offered, and the staff was unfriendly with no smiles. I paid $8 for tiny pancakes that weren’t worth it. The Turtle Pecan Waffle was also disappointing and overpriced. The vendors were rude, and the whole experience felt poorly managed. The location is not ideal, set between apartments with no vibe, and the decorations were minimal. The food quality was poor, and I don’t think this market fits the Buckhead area at all. It should have been in a larger, better-suited space, and the vendors need to be chosen...
