I joined this CrossFit gym October of 2020, and I never expected for my journey to be as enduring as it’s has been even up to this day. I started out joining the Launch classes which I am happy that I was able to be a part of, because I was able to get my feet wet at a pace that I was comfortable with mentally and physically. Those classes are what really gave me the kick start to my fitness journey (which I didn’t know what that looked like for me at time). I stayed with that program for 6 months and at that point I knew that I was ready for more. I then moved on to the CrossFit classes along with joining the Build classes, and from there it changed how I saw myself mentally and physically. The expertise and dedication that the coaches bring to all of their members is commendable and extremely heart warming. They are truly there for YOU and I felt that every single day that I stepped into this gym. Coach Ernest and Coach Travis have played a pivotal role in my journey by pushing me beyond my limits. When I doubted myself, they were always there to encourage me and help me to see pass my doubts. They both have this way of seeing what you are capable of when you don’t see it yourself, and to this day I still receive that push when doubt tries to overshadow. This gym feels like a family with a constant ball of energy, and every member of this gym has been extremely inviting and invested in everyone’s growth. There is a reason as to why I am still a member, and that is because I have seen myself grow and the people around me grow into a new and improved version of themselves day by day. I truly thank all of the coaches that have put time and dedication into each person, and I thank all of the people who are a part of this gym because they make everyone feel like family and make this gym feel like a...
Read moreI joined back in May of this year and have been addicted ever since. Best money you can spend on a gym; it blows every other one out of the water when it comes to facilities, trainers, and members. Joining is pretty much a no-brainer.
You have the ability to both work out in classes or on your own. There is a wide variety of abilities between members, and being new to the sport I was really intimidated by the veterans who were faster, stronger, and way more experienced. The coaches do a great job of getting you out of your comfort zone and interacting during the class, and I soon realized I had nothing to be worried about. All the members are honestly over the top nice and outgoing (seriously I was not allowed to keep to myself despite my every intention) and after 4 months I have found a home.
My one reservation was that membership is expensive. I started off on a 3 month plan figuring I would things out and go from there. The conclusion I came to after this time was that it was worth every penny. This is not your run of the mill cookie cutter gym that may cost $25 a month and have 5,000 members. I think there are around 170 of us, most of whom you see at least once a week, many I see every day. It is a 10,000 sq ft workout space, with tons of weights, bars, bikes, rowers, etc. Trainers need to get paid, the lights have to be kept on, and hopefully the owners can support themselves. This is whats known as running a business, and it costs money. Your return on investment however, is remarkable if you put in the time. There is not a gym that cares more about your personal success and well-being than CFATL, its as simple as that. I made the personal investment in myself to continue coming here, and I firmly believe it is worth every...
Read moreTL;DR - This is an awesome place for physical and mental transformation. Support + encouragement + top notch coaching and programming = Results and Friendships!
When my wife passed away a little over two years ago I made a commitment to get healthy for my 2 little kids. The coaches and community at CrossFit North Atlanta have been instrumental helping me achieve my goals along the way.
Some quick stats from March 2016 to March 2017:
Lost 32 lbs of fat and added 10 lbs of muscle mass (net lost 22 lbs) Lowered my body fat % by 10.5 points I can pick up 225 lbs off the ground and put it above my head I finished a 5 mile Spartan Race
The more important results for me are that I am physically and mentally stronger, I sleep better, and I have much lower stress. When I started I was pretty defeated and overwhelmed. The repeated act of physically overcoming a seemingly insurmountable workout gave me confidence that spilled over into my daily life. These little daily "wins" of finishing the workout or lifting more than I did last time were really something to hang on to when everything else seemed hopeless. I also found that I got more stress relief by moving my body than by going to a therapist.
Needless to say that as I am continuing my journey, you'll still find me at #CrossfitNorthAtlanta. They have had such a profound impact on my life and I am truly grateful to Travis, Elizabeth, Dani, Ernest, the rest of the coaches, and all of my workout buddies. I wouldn't be here without you. ❤️ 🏋️
Now, how many people can say that...
