This was our 26th different state Capitol visit and by some distance the worst. Had to show ID to enter the building because 'bad people try to get in here' - not the best start. Headed to the tour desk where we were ignored by FOUR of the rudest people I've ever met. Usually Americans - and particularly those working in Government buildings - couldn't be more friendly and helpful. These four ignored us (as per other reviews) despite working at the tour desk. They were all eating lunch - at the same time! A nice time for them but not really how the real world works! When I asked if this was the tour desk they replied 'yes but there are no tours, leaflets are there'. They couldn't even be bothered to give us an orientation, welcome us, point us to highlights etc let alone give us a quick tour given we'd travelled to Atlanta especially for the Capitol. One of the women then started arguing with me that I should have scheduled a tour on line. When I explained we couldn't access the website in England due to GDPR she couldn't care less. Rude people and a dreadful reflection on the...
ย ย ย Read moreTrooper Frazier was very unprofessional rude and self important. He needs to be brought into line and retrained on the fact he works for the people and is not their boss or better. Officers like him give good officers a bad name. I have several family members that are in law enforcement and when I described his attitude and approach to citizens they were all in agreement that he probably shouldn't hold a badge. My uncle who is a retired sheriff even went as far as to say officers like Frazier are always the ones who get good cops killed and unfortunately it is never the bad ones. I plan to wear my camera glasses next time I go so if I have the same type of interaction I can give the footage to NY niece who works for CNN and she said that it would definitely be a good peirce as they in the current climate today this gets great ratings. Hopefully I never have another encounter like this because the police deserve respect for the risks they take for us everyday and officers like Frazier diminish the people's trust and that is just not good as most officers are heros in...

It is unfortunate, however, that one of the representatives wasn't happy with my presence in the gallery with my camera. In spite of the fact that I was in accordance with all of the rules established for photographers in the gallery, I was asked for press credentials, which are not required of the general public in the gallery. While I hold these public servants in high regard it is not for them to change the rules mid-stride. Nonetheless, I left because I already got what I came for. Aside from this it was pleasant to experience our...
