I don't have any pictures this time, so I'll use description. Bad news out of the way first, despite the considerably spacious seating area for the building's size and location, it is definitely geared for takeout. This particular downtown location is unlucky, and that may account for the potential lack of a customer restroom. (I couldn't find one.) As far as atmosphere, it's set up like one would expect a takeout restaurant to be set up. It's not too flashy, but since you're simply waiting for food to be ready for pickup, it doesn't matter. It's not as if you aren't welcome. There is one woman working at the front, as far as I know, and she's polite. It's just unexpected for someone to get comfy in this location. Should you choose to eat there, as I did, you will be greeted with surprise and disposable cutlery and plates, so about standard for a takeout place.
However, I still don't think I would take this place out of the date day scene. Date night, maybe not, but if you get there early enough to make a full day of walking around and taking in the sites, it's a welcome relief to be able to sit down, wait for your food, and eat it. And the food itself is WELL worth it. I can't tell you how much of a relief it was, after multiple attempts to find a good place for Indian food stateside outside of Melbourne, FL, and after so many disappointments and such a long time, to finally find this place. All I got was butter chicken (because it's my favorite, it's enough to fill me up and I couldn't take leftovers), but it was on par with the best butter chicken I've ever had. Aromatic, incredibly flavorful, not too spicy, but just enough. The only thing that made me sad was a lack of peppers and onions in the butter chicken... But it's a fair choice for the location, usual clientele, and takeout nature. I would definitely go again if I made it back to the...
Read moreWanted to try this out but was appalled how they were treating the guest before I ordered. The lady in front of me ordered a lunch special since it was 1230 pm. Most of the menu's lying around the cashier clearly indicated they are advertising lunch selections. The lady orders the chicken Marsala which is the first option and is $10, the Indian cashier’s takes her credit card payment and gives her the recipient to sign. The customer in front of me asks about the price since on her CC receipt it’s showing $14 and some change. The cashier goes on to explain something about a combo which didn’t make any sense as to why she got charged 14 and not the 10 because the woman didn’t mentioned anything about a combo when she ordered. The guest asks about a refund and is told that’s not possible. I intervened because I have worked with many POS starters and they all allow one. The Indian worker offers her a drink on the house and gets denied politely. We ask for a manager and told there’s is not one available. What made the experience so negative was that as a business you messed up and were not able to rectify the situation and didn’t apologize. I took my business somewhere else and the lady made a comment that this was good to know and I could tell she wasn’t pleased with the interaction at all. As a business please train your staff to handle situations like...
Read moreWhenever I order and the girl is at the register I always have a wonderful experience! I live in the neighborhood and she treats me like a regular and I can really appreciate that. Tonight she wasn't here unfortunately and I had an issue with my food. I went back to the restaurant to express my dissatisfaction and the man with the orange beard came out and he fixed everything! I left a happy customer! They may need to get rid of that brown Indian boy that was there tonight because I'm telling you he's okay with losing customers...he was very rude over the phone when I called in to place my order for pickup. Everything I requested he was unable to do. I asked for extra vegetables he said they don't do that... I asked for extra teriyaki sauce on my chicken because I've ordered it before and it wasn't saucy enough to add my rice without it being dry. He said they were not unable to add extra teriyaki sauce that it will have to be cooked with the dish. I expressed to the man with the orange beard what I had requested over the phone. Immediately he sauteed vegetables for me added teriyaki sauce and added the new mix to my chicken dish and it's delicious! I would suggest if you ever have a bad experience ask for the man with the orange beard because he cares about...
