Left confused and overcharged. I stayed Saturday-Sunday for a concert. I booked online using their website for an AARP rate and added a Pup Pack. The website says the pet fee is $50 a pet. The confirmation email says $100 a pet. I called to ask about early check in twice and was told “Maybe. Weekends are busy. And the pet fee is $150 flat rate per night.” I got a text to check in the day before. I clicked the Early Bird check in for 12:00, $80 and pet fee, $150. Nothing was confirmed until 10:00 Saturday. I called that morning at 8:00 to ask and the guy had no information. I was coming from 3 hours away and ended up arriving at 1:00-ish. Valet is really your only parking option. Valet guy was kind and quick. The front desk staff weren’t very helpful. I had issues with the payment processing and when I went to ask they had a bit of attitude and had different information than what the girl the night before said. The best front desk staff is the girl working at night. The restaurant staff was lovely and food was good. Hours after check in, I had to go down and ask for the pup pack that was on my reservation. The staff member had to ask “What do I do about that?” to another member of staff. It was brought to the room. Again, afternoon Valet staff were super nice. In the morning, during check out, I asked again about the pet fee and got print outs of my receipts. The valet was no where to be found for 20+ minutes and I couldn’t call my car because valet the day before had crossed out the QR Code. I was told by front desk staff to call on Monday with my problems.
Edit: Ms. Tracy answered my phone call and was extremely helpful. I did rave about the food and evening staff. She was kind and understanding of my frustration and did confirm it’s a new staff and newer hotel. Super thankful that Wyndham has kind managers that help mediate...
Read moreThe first day of the stay, there was a rude awakening. No hot water in the sink or the shower. The showerhead protruded from a high ceiling fixture. The water pressure was low. Unfortunately, that was good because we didn't want freezing cold water pulsating down. There was no fan in the bathroom to air out the steam from the shower, which made the room and the carpet very damp. The bed sheets were so rough that it felt like my skin was being scraped. It was like lying under a curtain. The pillows were super soft and lacked any firmness. They were filled with what seemed like feathers. Poor choice for those with allergies. The covers did not pull away from the bottom of the bed. Very uncomfortable. When we used the clothes steamer, it set off the smoke detector. We thought there was a fire drill taking place. We had no idea the steamer would activate the smoke detector. We did not receive housekeeping service the next day. After having brought this to the attention of the front desk, they said they were busy and couldn't get to it. When it happened a second time, they told us we had to request it. Nowhere in their literature did they make it clear that we had to request housekeeping. The only thing they mentioned on a small card was that after three days of getting towel service, we would be charged. Also, we did not use the do-not-disturb doorhanger. They said they would get someone in to fix the water temperature because another hotel...
Read moreI had an awesome stay at the Origin hotel! I was looking all over to find a nice place to stay in Atlanta and through the reviews I realized this was a hidden gem given a bunch of reviews from when they weren't even open. I had a hiccup in my reservation and had to call the support desk and received such compassionate help and was able to resolve my issue with ease.
I arrived early and the people at the front desk were absolutely amazing and held my bag while I wandered around town for a few hours before check-in. I also snacked on some of the food from the hotel restaurant while I waited and was met with a pleasant server and beautiful space.
The room was just the right size and had luxurious window treatments, exposed brick, a comfortable bed and no annoying frill. The shower was a dream with a center-layed showerhead that was just the right pressure and heat.
I didn't find the bluetooth speaker in the bathroom to be annoying, but, a lovely touch bringing music throughout the space. I loved that there were many options for charging my devices in the room as well.
The walls were a little thin but for the most part all of my neighbors were very respectful and I had no issues with noise.
I absolutely would stay here again. The only downside to this hotel is that if you're walking there isn't a lot to do during the day in the area. You're definitely safe walking distance from the Marta though and can take public transportation to a lot of places all...
